into: Organizing stuff. Anything that makes me laugh (most of life is funny and I have a "Far Side" sense of humor...). Experiencing in real life some funny event from a movie, especially Monty Python ("Help, help, I'm being repressed!"). In music, unexpected key changes or single notes. Eating good food. Great sex with my wife. Experiencing BEAUTY, which to me is patterns (simplicity) in complex systems, and at the same time variations/complexity in apparently "simple" systems. Evolution. Etymology + entomology. Cool physiological mechanisms. Unusual life-forms. Medical technology. Anything to do with science. Advances in technology. Feats of engineering. Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine. Star Trek. Views from the Hubble telescope. Strange fungi. Bacteria. Kittens (+ small furry creatures in general). Rainbows of all kinds. Doing a great job on something. Unusual questions that little kids ask in all seriousness. Ah, I love being alive!!

not into: People who hate, + Hate memes. Lies of any kind. Stupid people who can't/won't think logically. Too-hot beaches. Ground squirrels. Flesh-eating bacteria. 98% of rap music. Oppressive governments + bureacrats of all stripes telling me what to do. Disorganization. Disgustingly fat people with weak wills. Relying on a tiny yippy dog instead of a wolf-like hound as companion when you face down a 8' long cougar. Spam.

makes me happy: Far Side cartoons. Pizza. Holding my tiny newborn babies for the very first time + looking into their eyes while they stare intently back at me. ("What ARE you, Big Thing??") Doing a kindness for someone else. Helping some small creature that's in trouble. Nice warm fireplace on a cold rainy day. BBQs. Fat happy watermelons. The annual salamander migration on our road. Reading a new book ranked "10" knowing it's jjust the 1st of a huge series! Hot cocoa when it's snowing outside. Finding something truly beautiful. Showing that beautiful thing to someone else + watching their expression. Smiles from the heart, because I made someone else happy. The sounds chickens make. Pockets + cuttlefish (thanks AL). Hot showers.

makes me sad: Regression to the mean. Clueless people wasting their lives (you only get 1). Being an atheist (yes, it really sucks). Saying good-bye to my middle son, who died before he was born. Mozart dying at only 33 ("decomposing composers -- there's less of them every year"). Pets who don't live as long as we do. Hmm, I sense a theme here: death death ignorance death + death. (Mostly death.) Yep, death sucks big time. What a waste. I want the computer-downloaded immortality in my SF books! Knowing that World War 3, islamic jihad, hyperinflation, riots + loss of democracy world-wide are all coming and our "leaders" are power-mad idiots with no clue.

hobbies: Reading. Organizing things to increase efficiency. Playing classical piano. Martial arts. Working on my Greek mythological genealogy chart. Motorcycles. Anything biology, science, or medicine. Discovering new things. Planting tree seedlings.

5 things i can't live without: Caffeine, computers, my family, SF books, music. #6 = exceptions to the rules. Highlighters. My pancreas. Cats. Cool bacteria. The Krebs cycle. Art. Beauty. Love.

vices: I find it very difficult to eat just 1 of anything chocolate. I talk way too much.

thoughts on sg: I love it

i spend most of my free time: Organizing stuff, reading, designing a new house, road trips w/ my family, working in my forest. --WHAT FREE TIME??--

occupation: Dentist + boy genius (both retired). I now work ~75hr /wk as a stock investor, owner/operator of a small specialist insurance company in London, plus do maintenance in my forest. I am my kids' hero.

current crush: My beautiful wife.

heroes: Leonardo da Vinci, Frederick Law Olmsted, Glenn Gould, Thomas Jefferson, Ronald Reagan.

gets me hot: Beautiful eyes, hands + butt on the ladies. Small breasts. Sexy ears. Vulcan women + elves. Hot brainy chicks--if you've got a PhD, own >1000 books, are into SF, and play in your own band, you're my dream girl (kind of a cross between Cassandra from Wayne's World and Dr. Samantha Carter from Stargate Atlantis). Form-fitting lingerie. Women being honest + direct.

favorite position: Ah, variety is the spice...

fantasy: To live forever.

sign: Shaolin Ch'uan Fa dragon style.

most humbling moment: I'm shy -- I have LOTS of humbling moments! Arg.

i lost my virginity: But I found the clitoris. Yep, it was worth it.
