So I moved.

Yeah, not far. I moved from Park Slope to Bensonhurst, mainly out of necessity. I LOVE my new place, it's near a train, it's big, and it has a small yard. Moving in February was interesting with all the snow, and there have been a few interesting occurrences since then. I think the most memorable of these, though, is that someone tried to sell me AMWAY products on the platform.

Mind you this wasn't while waiting for a train, but while exiting. I've been walking with a cane for the last 6 months, so I usually wait for traffic to migrate before i go down the stairs, and someone approached me as I was near the exit and asked me literally "Do you buy AMWAY products?"

This struck me for two distinct reasons:

1> He was trying to sell me a product line I know best as a joke from "I'm Gonna Git You, Sucka!".
2> He didn't ask if I wanted a specific product, he asked almost as if he were asking if I was a member of a secret society.

Has anyone here been approached in a similar manner? Does anyone here... buy AMWAY products?

Kubicle Kong

Comicon time again. They should just give up and call it geekfest, though. SO MANY video game displays that it's nearly 1/4 video games this year. I'm not complaining though. I got to play tom Clancy's HAWX, which was pretty cool. I reserve purchases till Saturday or Sunday, though I did get a few gifts for friends. I HIGHLY suggest that anyone who goes checks out the FEAR 2 display, They have two guys in Armacham uniforms witha demo you sit in and another sensory dep device, and some super offiiclal looking forms as advertisements. I found that this year, too I'm more interested in comics from up and coming artists than established ones. There's a guy selling the true story of a southern Colonel who wanted to get slaves to fight for the south by giving them freedom. Last year's spotlight comic was about a buffalo soldier with a cursed gun, so I think going with the civil war Americana thing might not be a bad idea.

I turn 32 on December 7th. The 6th is a saturday so I'll be doing a bunch of stuff, ending with me being at the Double Down Saloon, on ave A between houston and 2nd, from about 10pm on. Anyone who sees this si welcome to stop by and call me old.

I just spent a weekend in a house that says JESUS on the front. it made for a funny situation when my friend came to get me to go out for as bit last night "the house is on the right. It says JESUS on the front"
"it what?"
"Says Jesus on the front in a big banner"
"What do you mean?"
"i mean there's a banner on the house that says Jesus. My mom is very religious"

that pretty much sums up my thanksgiving weekend.

The reality of my situation is finally sinking in. My landlord is leaving NYC and I cannot afford to buy his house, so I will eventually have to move. I'm trying to stay in brooklyn, but any subway accessible borough is acceptable. I'll let everyone know when the time actually comes and where i end up!
