We went on a wee adventure over the weekend... and took Lani in her carrier on the bus:

How cute is that? Except I keep complaining to my husband that he looks so scruffy with his hair that long but he's being lazy and won't shave it!
and then later on this hilarity happened while we were doing some shopping at asda:

She was well tuckered out!

Well, I'll soon be the proud new owner of this sweet frame:

I'm so stoked. It's going to be a sweet single speed project that I plan to build up entirely myself (under the tutelage of my bike mechanic husband, that is) and I'm really stoked to go for a ride! Ry's planning to get a baby seat for his charge duster and then we can spend our weekends zipping about Edinburgh on our bikes. Super duper excited. Though we do need to wait until the baby is closer to 9 months before she'll be ready for the bike seat. I might eventually convert it to fixed gear, but not until I feel more competent riding. I used to ride every. single. day. in university, but it's been a couple years now. What I really want to do is go ride it on the velodrome at meadowbank! Ry mentioned possibly borrowing a track bike off of one of his coworkers (he works in the bike industry so everyone he knows owns every type of bike imaginable haha) and seeing if we can go for a spin.
p.s. this is why Japan is better than you!
I want to move to Tokyo SO BAD!

Just ordered these in 1" so I can start taping my 22's! That's nearly 4mm to stretch but it shouldn't take me more than 2 weeks, I suspect. Then I am finalllly done. I cannot wait to get these in and let my ears get cosy so I can start wearing my Jellyfish Plugs that Lil got me. The flare on them is really huge, even Ryan hasn't been able to put them in and he's been wearing 26mm tunnels for a while now.
Fingers crossed they won't give me much trouble because I cannot wait to rock those bad boys.

Had my third eye microdermal (it's actually a skin diver) done on thursday! so stoked, I love it.
AND I finally went and put my deposit down on my bird sleeve yesterday. I didn't book a day because I wanted to come in and see the artwork first before I get it done, so not sure exactly what day I am getting tattooed but sometime in the next few months.
Life has been busy lately! Plus my husband got the flu, and then me and the baby got sick.

But the good news is everyone is on the mend and tomorrow we are heading into town to book my next tattoo appointment to start my sleeve! I AM SO EXCITED! I am getting a "bird" sleeve, which will basically be wee garden birds with a branch on my forearm (kinda old-schooley, with lots of lovely color) and later i'll get my upper arm done with leaves/foliage and an owl and possibly a squirrel. Stoked.
Here are some of the reference images i'm taking in with me:

hawfinch

firecrest

blue tit

kingfisher
and others. Yay.
Life's been pretty grand otherwise, and we had a lovely Christmas with this babydoll:
