So my best friend came to visit today from San Francisco. We're going to be going to Knotts Scary Farm tomorrow. Since my birthday is next month he brought my gift early. His birthday was in february and I hadnt seen him since january so I had a rather late gift for him. He's a really talented guy and likes to tear things apart and rebuild them, especially electronic things he can circuit bend. So I had picked him up one of those creepy Sing-a-majigs cause I knew he would love to tear it apart. Spent a whole 20 bucks, cause I've been having a pretty hard time scraping by lately. So he opens it, has a laugh, says thanks and hands me mine. Its in a medium size box and clunks around inside. I'm expecting a little toy or something, maybe a transformer or a new Doctor Who toy. I give it a shake and open it. Its a fucking 32 gig iPhone 4. My face dropped, i stared at it in awe for a few minutes then just looked at him. "Theres no way you can afford this" I said "Sure I can" he says, "its for the business, you need one to test on." Now I've never really given friends hugs, only girls, but I gave him the biggest man hug I've ever given. Now I feel like a total ass cause I bought him some shitty little toy and he bought me a $300 phone that I've been dying to get since july. I have no idea how to make it up to him. He's definitely the best friend I could ever have, and I am incredibly grateful to know him.

Reactivated my account after a long stint away. Was quite low on moneys there for a while. But yay, back now, new stuffs happening. My studio is finally up and running and we're almost done with our first game. I was able to make a business deal with Camilla D'Errico ( http://www.camilladerrico.com/ ) and she's going to be working with us on our next game. Pretty damn excited about that, shes an amazing artist. We have 6 games lined up, I'm hoping we're successful enough with the first so we can continue making more. Living the dream! If it all works out to plan we'll be heading to Oregon late next year and leasing studio space in Portland. Great things to come from us. Giant Robot Panda all the way!

Also going to try to make more friends on here, cause y'all are pretty cool people and I've been lurking long enough.

Got my copy of Bioshock 2 today, special edition! My god the art book is beautiful. The concept artists at 2K blow me away. They really went above and beyond with the character designs from the first game. The early Art Deco design of Subject Delta is so rad. I love art deco design. The rest of the special edition contents are great too. The LP of the original soundtrack is awesome, gives a great haunting feel. The posters are very nice, gotta get them matted and framed for my office. I'm sure the game is great, unfortunately havent been able to play it yet cause I've been working on freelance work all day, but it's on the agenda for this weekend.

Not so good with this blog thing am I.

Lets see, new in my world. Lost my job, damn economy. Tryin to work as much freelance as I can. I love being a 3D modeler but I hate how many of us there are. The market is seriously over saturated. Need to get my ass out of advertising and into games where I really want to be, job market is just seriously brutal right now. Hoepfully now that I'm semi unemployed I can work on some personal projects I've had stacking up (Doctor Who Diorama anyone? :p)

Speaking of the good Doctor, I was so sad to see Tennant leave the show. His last episode was amazing and a total tear jerker. Matt Smith is a decent actor but it's gonna be hard living up to Tennants legacy. I really hope Geronimo doesnt become a constant catch phrase for him, that'll get old fast. I have faith in the writers though, Davies left the show in good hands.

What else what else...

My WoW account got hacked, douche bags took everything. Still waiting to here back from the GMs to see if I can get all my stuff back. In the meantime I've been tryin out Star Trek Online. Pretty nice change, and it's enjoyable. Dont know how long I'll subscribe but it's fun for the time being.

Oh! Bioshock 2 this week!! SQUEEE! Can't wait to return to Rapture, that last trailer made my pants happy. I grabbed the special edition of the game. The art book and vinyl alone make it worth it. I listen to the original soundtrack on a daily basis, such a great collection of songs.

Also lookin forward to God of War 3 in march. I got the collection for christmas, had never played them before cause I took them for just a mindless action game. Was very pleasantly surprised to discover a pretty awesome story and a good mix of gameplay.

My god, I just finished season 2. What an amazing show. I've never watched a show that made me so nervous and exhilarated. It's pure gold. Never thought I could have so much fun cheering for a serial killer. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend you do, it will blow your mind.

My games teaser trailer is done... FINALLY! Only took about a months worth of sleepless nights, but damn it looks good for only 2 people workin on it. Now I get to move on to actually working on the content of the game again. This week I'm gonna be workin on the viral marketing plan we have, should be a fun little break. In a month or so we're gonna have t-shirts and stickers, so if you want one, let me know. I'll post pics of them a once theyre in.

In other news, its my good friend Anya's 21st birthday this thursday, so a night of drinking and debauchery is sure to ensue. Should be a blast, I havent gotten to go out anywhere in quite a long time. So if you see an irish guy staggering about san francisco with a group of 6 or so other people, gimme a wave!

Over a month later but I'm updating! Yay! Things worked out with the business, I'm now officially the Art Director for Ethereal Muse Studios and workling on a video game that I designed. Pure awesome. Things have been hectic though. We're workin hard on the game and im clockin in close to 12 hours a day. Not a lot of free time. But it's fun work and I shouldnt complain, I'm livin my dream after all.

I've never posted a blog here before, never been up on the whole blogging thing really, but it's late and I'm excited and bored at the same time and can't sleep. The source of my excitement comes from the amazing news that the video game I have slowly been developing for the past few months may actually become a reality soon. Next month I have a meeting with the head of a new company here in San Francisco and a group of investors. I'm gonna pitch them the game idea, tell them why it kicks so much ass, and if all goes well, they'll give me the money to hire a team and get it finished. I just graduated college not one month ago so this is pretty major. So here's hopin! Wish me luck!!
