Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a long overdue blog post!
It’s been over a month since I’ve written a new blog post, and while I know this is shameful I feel I can blame my teaching prac which was followed by exam time at varsity. Or I can just blame myself for being a lazy bum.
Either way, this is a blog and I will do my best to try and relate the adventure that is my life. The easiest way would be to illustrate this through photographs. Unfortunately they’re almost all from my Blackberry, so quality is lacking, but hey, photos is photos!
Right, onwards ho!
Teaching and Varsity
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I have no idea why I was nervous about teaching at a private, all boys school. Okay, well I do, but really, it was silly.
I was assigned to a Grade 1 class on my first day, after having spent ages meeting with the headmaster and head of the Foundation Phase department.
The boys in my class are lovely. The boys at the school are so well-behaved. It's a Christian school, and they have chapel/assembly every Friday. My first Friday there I just sat in complete awe as every single child filed into the hall in dead silence. This included the Grade 0s, who were having their first ever chapel! I have never before in my life witnessed such behaviour from primary school children!
Teaching at this school was awesome because I had a great supervising teacher, a great class, and all my crit lessons went very well. Also, teachers get free hot lunch if they're staying late. I feasted!
I really to miss driving to this school in the morning (the drive is so much more lovely than the awful ugly drive to varsity).
During my prac, one of the smallest, cutest boys in the class came up to me and told me he loves me because he loves the lessons I teach because they are fun.
I damn near cried right there. :')
I have finished my exams for this semester (I only had 3) and am now on a 5 week long holiday! Woohoo!
Photoshoots
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
This week has been the first time in six weeks that I've not had at least one photoshoot.
Crazy times!
I haven't received the photos from a lot of the shoots yet, but I do have some I can share with you from some shots I did with the awesome
Jes Hunter. I love her work so much, she truly is a fantastic photographer, she makes magic with that camera of hers!
The shoot I'm most excited about is the calender shoot I was a part of. This 2013 calender is to be sold to raise funds for
Kitty and Puppy Haven. Each girl got to pose in faux fur bikini bottoms with either kitties or puppies. At once stage I had three tiny new little baby kittens in my arms. They scratched the hell out of me, but they were adorable!

I will let you know about where you can order the calender and all that once I've got the details
As promised, photos with Jes...

Other stuff
And finally, the most exciting bit of news I have to share...
Tattoos
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Yesterday I got a brand spankin' new tattoo, as part of the
CHOC Tattoo-A-Thon, a fundraising event in support of the CHOC foundation for children with cancer.
I went with my friend Dom to
Fallen Heroes, the tattoo parlour where
Lunar works.

Dom got this super cool Mandala tattoo...

...and I got the Johannesburg skyline on my hip...

Two of my other friends got tattoos as part of the event too - one got a stylized picture of a swallow, and the other got the gangster version of Banksy's rat. Unfortunately I don't have photos at the moment.
Thanks to
ApocalypseMM for mentioning this event in the SGZA group!
So I reckon that's a pretty good highlight reel of the past month or so of my life!
Now onto internetly things...

Have you guys seen the amazing sets that have been going up in the past month? I am so in love with so many of them!
Most importantly, did you notice how many stunning
Talamia sets have gone up in Member Review?
In alphabetical order, I'd like to present to you...
Arroia, whose stunning set
Overture was bought in just 2 days, if I'm not mistaken... and no wonder, just look at her!

Biship, who has returned in
The City Sun Sets Over Me. Is she not exquisite? Those eyes...

Prozack, who's debut set
Erubescent has already done so very well! How cute is this facial expression?

Vassilis! I'm sure we were all equally as excited to see a new set from this lady, and
Meditation in Motion most certainly did not disappoint! What a beautiful smile...

Funny Internet Things
So, that has been my long-overdue eagerly anticipated (
) blog update. Thank you for reading, and we hope to see you again soon!
Seriously though, I'm hoping now that I'm on holiday I'll have more time to update this blog more frequently.
Also, yay I have a Facebook fan page! Check it out here...
I also still have a Twitter account where I believe I occassionally say mildly amusing things.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everybody!
As a parting gift, here is me being awesome. With an awesome quote. Which came out of my awesome mouth
(Just as an aside, my friend was GOING to start a shewantsmydick.tumblr.com page for the lolz but it turns out it's already taken :') By someone who doesn't even use it, pah! So she just uses it for fun. It's funny to make fun of those silly 'deep' quote Tumblr things!)
