As I get older I care less about resisting various holidays that, as a younger woman, I denounced as a waste of money, time and the earth's resources. This year I have a tree, decorated with bunnies, and presents underneath. I'm listening to John Denver and the Muppets - A Christmas Together on repeat, baking cookies shaped like angels, and wishing my family could all be together.
Update: I'm now listening to SomaFM's xmas station. Have you heard There's a Santa Who Looks a Lot Like Elvis by Bob Rivers? It's awesome. Also, the number of xmas songs that end with a faint strain of Jingle Bells is staggering.
