2011.
Man, did this year kinda suck or what?
I had a rough start. I'm better off now than I was a year ago, so I guess it's all good.

A couple things I found on the internet that amused me:

There's an interesting detail in this one:

This was at my friend's wedding. I was one of the groomsmen:

That'll probably be the last time I ever wear a tuxedo. And here's me at work in the morning. Now with beard!

In November, I was featured on the SuicideGirls blog. I joined the ranks of some very talented artists (including my good friend jimcurt99), which wasn't something I really expected. It suddenly occurred to me that it had been almost a year since I started doing fan art. Seemed like maybe this was the end of the road, like I had finally found something. Not that I was necessarily looking for anything. In any event, I retired. Then I retracted that and called it a hiatus. As of now, I can't imagine doing fan art any time soon. I'm busy and, to be totally honest, I just don't feel it anymore. If I had anything to prove, I've proven it a few times over.
And so, I give you what will likely be my last piece of "fan art" for the foreseeable future:

Yes, it's another of Eveski. I had this picture floating around, and it seemed like a shame to waste it. The likeness isn't perfect, but who cares? The drawing is okay, and that's all that should matter.
I realize I've drawn Eveski a lot over the last year. It's partly because I think she's beautiful, and also because she's become a good friend, but you want to know the real reason?
Her shoulders are interesting to me. And now you know.
I'm cautiously optimistic going into this new year. I have a decent freelance gig going on, and my webcomic I'm launching in January. I've learned not to sit back and wait for things to happen, but to keep working as hard as I can towards it. And I'm working my ass off.
2011 started on a bad note. But I'm finishing it in a better place than I was in a year ago. A little wiser, a little more determined, and a little more sure of what I'm doing. I have no specific expectations for 2012. But I am hopeful.
Okay, let's end this with a bang. Here's a sneak preview of what I've got cooking for the new year, the top secret freelance job I've been working on:

Hope you all have a good new year. Thank you to everyone who has continued to support me here. It's more help than you can imagine.
