I finally worked out that by clicking the "My SG" button, I can see everyone's most recent blog posts as a feed. Unbelievable that it's taken me literally YEARS to figure that out...

Been in Darwin for 3 weeks tomorrow. It's really fucking hot, even though it's supposed to be almost winter. Like 35 degrees (celcius) most days. And the humidity... god... it's just draining. Like being in a greenhouse all day, every day, and trying to get a proper lungful of air in the steamy heat.
Everyone local keeps telling me it will cool down soon. I'll believe it when I see it.
I do like it here so far - lots of awesome markets, fairly laid-back lifestyle, friendly people - the heat is just difficult for me to cope with. Especially since we're living in our camper trailer in our friends' backyard. Once we both get jobs we'll find a house or a flat to move into... I can't wait for that to be honest. I'm really looking forwards to having my own space.
I think once I get a job I like, and am living in a home I'm happy in, things will be better. I just feel unsettled and out of place at the moment, and the heat makes me feel sick some days.
Things will get better, though. I know this.

Currently in Townsville, it's the end of March and the temperatures are still in the high 20s to low 30s (celcius). Good preparation for Darwin, where I'm going to be living for at least 6 months, starting in about 2 weeks time... I'm really looking forwards to getting there actually, from everything I've heard it's about the closest you can get to living in South-East Asia while still actually in Australia. If that makes any kind of sense. (Lots of Asian food markets, tropical climate, stuff like that.)
