Random Thoughts: Negativity

This political season, I have noticed that a lot of people who have ‘conservative views’ tend to be negative people. Now this isn’t just one or two people I have noticed this from, it is a lot of people. Even when I am hitting my depressive lows with my bipolar disorder, I still have a decent outlook when it comes to life and the world. I am an optimist if you will.

I say the above because I have noticed that most of my family, most of Ms.Katie’s family, most of the people I work with, most of the people I come in contact with, are just a bunch of negative people (in turn those people are conservatives who voted against President Obama in the election*). Instead of holding out hope, instead of saying nice things, instead of being upbeat, happy people, they are negative, rude, condescending people.

It’s hard to want to be around people who bring nothing but negativity and bad juju to the table.

*I am not saying all conservatives are like this. This is just the trend I noticed from my standpoint and my small collective of people I come in contact on a regular basis with.

How does one do that? Absolutely cut out the negative aspects in your life? Your best friend, who is nice when you are around them but have an overall negative view of everything. Your parents whom you love, trust and adore, but have a bad world view. Your family members, who are full of condescention and hatred toward most things, coworkers, etc… How do you cut out the negative parts of your life to spare yourself?
