Sweet Countdown Joy.
Less than 5 days until Halo 3 !

A clan mate of mine at http://www.8bitbrigade.com/ almost had Halo 3 today. I will post his story here.

Okay, today I decided to go to my local Target today after school to pick up some of the new Halo ActionClix. On my way out I decide to take a little detour into the video game section. I go down the 360 isle and I see something in the corner of my eye that looked like a retail version of Halo 3. So I go back to check it out and low and behold:

TARGET HAD JUST PUT OUT FULL RACKS OF HALO3!

I almost shit my goddamn pants! They had the racks filled of Halo3 Standard and Limited Edition copies. So without hesitation, I ask the guy who just finished putting them up of he could hand me a copy of the Limited Edition. I then RAN to the closest register and then had the lady ring it up. The lady rings it up and asks for my money and hands me the game in a bag. Just before the money could touch her hand a siren goes off. It comes from the register and in large red text it says. "DO NOT SELL UNTIL 9/25/07". Needless to say my heart hit the floor. She then went to a superior to ask what was up. The superior comes over and asks if I got this from the rack. I said yes. Then she starts debating whether or not to just punch in the numbers and sell it to me anyway. These are the exact words I said: "I could've sworn it came out today." The line worked. She range me up, gave me my change and started to head for the door. Then I hear a loud yelp. "Hey, come back!" I look at her and she was waving me back. I then see a big musclular security gaurd start to come at me. This was my moment to either go back and see what she wants or bolt for the door trying to dodge the most fit security guard target has ever hired. Then, true to my nature, I pussy out and go back to the lady. She said that I can't walk out with that game or someone might be fired. I wanted to say, "So what?!" but then I was reminded of the huge security guard that was still walking towards me. I then gave back the game to her and got my cash back. Needless to say, they yelled at eachother and argued who was responsible for putting them out, and had the guy take them all down.

I am so crushed right now. It felt as if I had just given birth to the perfect child, just to have it ripped from my hands. It was like finding the holy grail and then dropping it into a bottomless pit. I swear I could feel the warmth eminating from the case, and now that warmth is gone. I should have fucking ran. God! Now its going to be really damn hard for me to wait for Tues. when stores already have it in the back.

Well anyway, that's how my day was today.
I did however pick up some Halo Actionclix. They are pretty badass. They are well sculpted.

We all told him he should have kept walking and not look back in the first place. It was a legal transaction and there was nothing they could really do about it except to try and guilt trip him into giving it back.

So I am making great strides to better myself and my life. The biggest is a new job. I don't have it officially yet, but by the end of this coming week everything should be finalized one way or another. I really really hope to get it. Beyond the major increase in income, it also means a better work environment, benefits (health, dental, vision), access to the hospital's fitness center, and just overall job security.

It isn't a super awesome job, but it is a stepping stone into a different field. I hope this will be the start of a great new chapter in my life. _aurora_ and I are starting to get more serious about planning our wedding. And by we, I mean her, as I can hardly get an opinion in most times. Not that horrible, since I don't have a dream wedding in my head, other than marrying the love of my life. Should have a date set in a bit.

All in all this is going to be a pretty big chapter in my life, one way or another.

I feel sick. If for no other reason than the fact that I will have to send a check along with my 1040 instead of expecting a return. frown puke blackeyed

That wouldn't be bad, if I didn't live in Indiana. A state who's income tax is worse than the governments. They deducted more from my pay. I hold on to no hope of getting a return from them, as I only got something like $12 back last year.

Makes me want to move back to Florida.

I am typing from my new computer. It is pretty badass. The thing that makes me happiest is that I can record, pause, and what not live tv. Oh, and I have a program guide for basic cable.

I spent all day yesterday getting it toward being set up the way I want it. Deleting all the crap that Dell and Windows has installed that I don't want, then replacing those programs with ones I like. Downloading codec's and transfering all my files from my laptop to this desktop.

Now I am downloading tons of stuff, and looking for my torrent files so I can go to sharing everything full time

The son of a woman my mother works with was found dead (Link Here) on some train tracks. Honestly it isn't a surprise. I have never met the woman or her son, but have heard plenty about them from my mom. He was a 19- year old binge drinker since he was about 14. He has been arrested on many occasions, mostly for drunk driving.

On one occasion he was found walking around in a drunk daze after his SUV flipped after one of the teens (they couldn't figure out who was driving) was driving drunk ran into a ditch and flipped it. One of their friends was still in the car.

If it isn't a murder, I would be putting my money on his friends leaving him because he drank himself to death.

Sad thing is that drinking in a field is pretty well the only thing that kids have to do around here. The 'thing' to do is to go drive your truck out somewhere and drink beer. Fun...

I am really sick. My throat and nose hurt so much it makes my stomach hurt. All that wouldn't be bad is I didn't have to go into work tonight. It had better be quiet. Last night was a pain in the ass. Well, the first 2 hours were anyway. Stupid high school boys being annoying.

I got some sleep today, but it wasn't anything to brag on or feel great about. Being sick really does kill any hope for quality sleep. I even took some Nyquil before going to bed this morning.

I am just miserable. frown

Well, Christmas is over and I survived my better half's family, though not unscathed. I am getting sick, because most of her family were sick. I really need to stop making out with every person I see. skull

We had a nice night together, and then a lot of being bored by myself for the rest of my time off.

It is back to work for me. It had better be quiet and uneventful. I will be happy as long as I have a little something to keep me occupied, be it shows, music, or movies on my laptop or Sudoku.
