I am so sunburned right now. I hate wearing sun tan lotion for no adequate reason. I just loathe putting it on and I seldom burn so I tend to just not do it and get burned only a little and then I put on Aloe (which for some reason I don't mind putting on) and it turns into tan. I think I don't mind the Aloe b/c I actually need it and invariably you will end up putting sun tan lotion on parts you don't need to but Aloe you are already highlighted for. Anyways, I didn't wear suntan lotion for Pointfest 17 (a local concert put on by the "alternative" radio station) and since it started at noon and went all day and I have been inside a lot more than usual I got really burned. But other than that the concert was awesome. Mudvayne was amazing and I'm glad I finally got to see them. Same with American Head Charge. I really admire them for going ahead with this concert after they lost their guitarist. But they got someone to replace him and just got up their and fucking rocked. Story of the Year and Sum 41 were solid too but put on much shorter sets than I was expecting / hoping for. No one else really stood out to me as that impressive but overall it was pretty fun. Oh and of course I damaged my left nipple again. I swear its cursed. Before I got it pierced I had damaged it a number of times most notably getting stung by a wasp on it and being hit with a paintball. But somehow that didn't cross my mind when I put metal in it. Since piercing it I have caught it on a number of things the most serious being when a dog jumped up on my and caught it with one of his nails and tore it nearly halfway out. Its mostly healed up now so I thought I would be able to crowdsurf without incident as long as I made an effort to stay on back. However, I weigh over 200 pounds so I got dropped and guess what hit first? Yup, my left nipple on someone's shoulder. Oh well. Not too much blood at least. Regardless it was totally worth it and good show and my 'girlfriend' actually enjoyed it for the most part too though we did bow out early due to her aversion to crowds.

I had an eventful day in that sense that many somewhat noteworthy events occurred. Nothing truly noteworthy but I'm gonna post anyways. I finally got fed up with the heat and shaved and got a haircut. It still looks pretty random but it will tame down after I sleep on it and grab another shower. So here is that.



My Invader Zim box set finally arrived at work two weeks after it was supposed to so I bought it immediately. Of course I was so excited that I posed with it. Come to think of it thats a little creepy.



I also picked up the new System of a Down CD almost a week early b/c I think I found a way to break street date without getting caught. (Of course I'm going to brag about it here even though someone on my friends list works for the same company I do but I'm just hoping he decides to exploit it himself) Basically I used the special order system to get the CD sent here since we don't usually carry CDs where I work. So in order for us to have it before it comes out we get it the Wednesday before with our other special orders. But we ring up special orders a different way such that the bar code is never scanned so it never goes through the computer as that title but as a dummy code for some generic ordered CD. As a result I am listening to Mezmerize right now. Its pretty damn good btw. Well worth picking up.

The other 'event' involves work also. I had apparently been secret shopped a week or so ago and just got back the results today. I got an 85 percent which is pretty good but hardly amazing. The real problem though was that in the comments section she mentioned what had been playing on the TVs while I was helping her. It was the episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force called Revenge of the Mooninites and if memory serves while I was ringing her out Ignignokt said "we are here to steal your pornography and sodomize our vast imaginations." So she wrote that she felt that my playing a show making frequent references to pornography while there was kids in the store was inappropriate. My boss backed me up on it though since we have a sale on Adult Swim DVDs and it was after 6 pm and all but yeah no more ATHF at work anymore.

What was going to be one comic has become 3 different ones that I am currently developing ideas for. Although one of them I'm not sure will work as a comic as well as it would work in another format like a tv series either animated or live action. I think I'm going to go back to school for a bit. Just do the Community College thing to get a few art courses and maybe some creative writing classes as well. I especially want to do photography b/c its always something I've enjoyed. That and film. I think in some ways its why I got into computer science was wanting to know how to create and edit pictures and videos and music digitally but I quit when it turned out to be largely how to write programs I don't care about in languages no one uses anymore for the 'experience'. Regardless of whether or not I get anything out of school again I'm looking forward to deferring my college loans. Right now they are taking half my paycheck and that just doesn't leave enough for all the crap I want to buy myself so I can convince myself that the material goods I surround myself with compensate for my miserable life.

Well I'm finally writing again. I've been trying to get a start on this comic book I want to do but I keep getting caught up in the art. I have very mediocre talent for drawing and while I am getting better its still nowhere near high enough quality to put it out there. So every time I try to draw something for the comic it turns out to be not good enough and I get discouraged. So recently I decided just to write it and try to find an artist to do it for me later once I get it all scripted out. Alan Moore has been very successful at doing just that and I've finally picked up some of his stuff that I've been dying to have this person to look up to who is doing something I would really love to do and doing an amazing job of it. Plus in all his pictures he looks like an unkempt wildebeast hermit which I totally respect so he is officially my new idol. I also started working on a short story about time travel. I'm such a big sci fi dork that I've actually formed my own theories about how time travel would actually work (largely inspired by how Robert Heinlein handles it in a number of his stories and how Philip Dick handles it in Paycheck [the short story not the self contradicting how many explosions can we pack into one atrocity movie]). I finally got my computer moved into a new room so I'll be posting some new pics soon and hopefully even get my webcam up on SG before too long. In other news work still sucks.

My dad has this problem with the weirdest ebay addiction I have ever seen. He almost never buys stuff on it and has to my knowledge only made 3 purchases. The only problem is all three were cars. He bought a Jaguar he wanted to fix up last year and it ended up being in worse condition than he thought so its still rusting in our driveway. He bought a broken car just for the parts so he could fix up my car and just recently he bought another Jaguar. Me and my brother had to go out to pick it up so my Dad could stay home to take care of my Mom. Since I only get two days off a week I had to take them right next to each other. So on Monday we flew out to North Carolina and crashed in a hotel. I somehow managed to get quite sick and did not sleep well at all. On Tuesday we drove 13 hours back, my brother driving all of it since putting me behind the wheel of a 12 cylinder Jaguar on a highway is a bad idea plus I was sick. And now I close every night this week at work and I still can't get this headache to go away. That being said things are looking kinda up at home at least. I'm moving a lot of stuff around to get my computer into my bedroom so I will be able to do whatever until later at night without disturbing anyone. At that point I plan to get my webcam set back up and take a few more pics and all that. I'm hoping to save up enough money to buy an actual digital camera soon but my college loans are doing their best to make that difficult.

Well I just changed my relationship status from single to open relationship. Not really sure how it happens but it seems I kinda have a girlfriend. I mean its pretty clearly nothing but convenience (old friends from high school with no other friends in the area) but its been pretty good. We had kinda a one night stand and it became a string of one night stands and there you have it. Not real sure how I feel about it and all. Sometimes she makes me feel less alone but often she just makes me feel lonelier b/c while I enjoy her company there is a spark that just isn't there and I don't know how to ignite one.

Hmm its been a bit since I updated again. Just haven't had a whole lot to say really I suppose. I've been opening a lot at work recently and that just really takes it out of me. There is something about getting up that early that really shoots my productivity. Its like I never really wake up so I stumble through the whole day only half there and hoping that its enough that no one will notice. And well its the mall so realistically half there puts me ahead of most but by the end of the day I just want to get back in bed but I try and do stuff anyways and it doesn't work. I've been rooting through profiles to find something good to read. There is always this huge list of stuff I want to read but haven't had a chance to and I always forget what is on it so I often end up reading nothing. I did pick up Abarat by Clive Barker from the library since it was on Faye's list and am thoroughly enjoying. I really enjoyed the Books of Blood but keep getting sidetracked from reading his novels until now so thats good. I'm really enjoying it too. There is something I love about someone as twisted as Barker writing a kid's story. It just feels strangely right to me somehow. Growing up really is such an odd time. Its like all the horrors of the real world that were glossed over or hidden before are coming to light for the kid. Its like finding out ghosts or vampires or whatever haunt you prefer is in fact real. Well hopefully I'll have something real to post about soon. No idea what it might be but we'll wait and see.

Its gotten to this point where i find so many reasons to procrastinate that I often put off doing anything important or relevant or anything that could possibly get me out of this shit hole in which I live and this job I pretty much despise. Well ok the job is fine and my boss is great but the mindbogglingly stupid people are really wearing me down and my company is so freaking insanely out of touch. So tonight I've dicked around for hours and its 4:45 am and I still have accomplished almost nothing of value. I've made a decision though. I'm gonna go do something now and the fact that I have to be up pretty early for easter stuff with my fambly isn't gonna stop me from doing what needs to be done tonight no matter how little sleep I get. But at least I paused to tell you all about it. I'm off to get some work done then I suppose. Peace.

I just have to say I have been enjoying television a surprising amount recently. I've been really getting into Arrested Development and between that and the new Sketch Show more Mr Show alums then ever are getting air time since Mr Show went off the air. Now I still almost never watch TV live but I've been downloading episodes left and right. Don't tell anyone though. I'm not too worried about getting in trouble. I double Cartoon Network is gonna bust my balls about downloading the latest episode of Robot Chicken considering I own ATHF vol 1 - 3, Sealab vol 1 and 2, SGC2C vol 1 and 2, Brak Show, Home Movies season 1 and plan on buying all the upcoming stuff too. I support them and all I just don't happen to have cable right now

Once again its been too long since I've updated this. Of course that would appear to be pretty standard for me since I haven't updated my LJ since Dec 12th 2004 (and I had to look b/c I had no idea just that it had been a long time). I would update more if my life was less boring. Only exciting thing I did between the last update and this one is go to an MC Chris show. The show was awesome. It was so great to go to a really dorky show where I totally fit in wearing a Zelda shirt. I haven't had enough time to be much of a dork recently. I mean I still play Magic: the Gathering pretty regularly but my video game time is slipping. At least I still watch Stargate all the time with my parents. If that doesn't make you a nerd nothing does.
