Ok, so I saw the TOTAL RECALL remake last night. It was ok, but Colin Ferrell is no Shwarzeneggar. About the only thing that would garner a PG-13 rating was the girl with 3 boobs. It seems the the whole thing was an homage to the original. They took out the whole Mars element and had some lame political plot. Not to spoil it but in 2084 Earth has been ravaged by war and only 2 continents exist. The United British Nations or some shit and The Colony which is in Australia. Workers have to travel on this giant elevator dubbed "The Fall" that travels past the earth's core. Cohaggen wants to control the Colony with his synthetic police. Visually stunning. great special FX, but the story lacked. They should have just kept the Mars sub-plot. Kate Beckinsale is both Lori (Doug's wife) and Ritcher (Micheal Ironside's character from the original) and Jessica Biel as Melina. Which gets confusing when they fight since they're BOTH brunettes! What I loved about this movie was the fight scene in the elevator (a more conventional one not The Fall) It was ok, but the original is WAY better! also NO FUCKING KUATO!!!!

TOTAL RECALL...I'm sure that here we saw it with other name...I don't know why the companies change the names of the films in Latin America. For example: "The Fockers" here is "La familia de mi novia" (My girlfriend's family).

I think Lin Wiseman (however the hell you spell his name) should stick to directing UNDERWORLD movies and leave the classics alone.

I've heard the plot from the NPR review of it and I'm with you - sad to see it not on Mars. I don't know what some complain about; I really enjoyed the original film. I know it could be considered 'campy' but really, not so much compared to some films of similar time (hello, Dragnet remake, I'm looking at you!). Anyway, I appreciate your viewpoint and agree.

Well, they about doubled in price for next year.

4 day with preview night was 175, 4 day withou preview night was 150, and it was $42 for single days.

The sale is over though. It was a limited presale open only to 2012 attendees.

I'm not sure when the general public goes on sale, but keep an eye on their website, because when they say the day, and time, you have to make sure you're at a computer EXACTLY on that time and date, to the SECOND, or you don't have a chance.

Even then, your chances are iffy.

I had a bad feeling there'd be no Kuato... When I saw the cast was entirely maxe up of pretty, but sub-par actors, I knew what mind of remake it'd be. I will wait to rent it.

Expendables 2, however... All over it
