Thanks.

I got some new shades. Hell the fuck yeah.

Well folks, its back to the hairy hilltops for your man. To the depths of the peaks. To the new mud. To times of the misty mystic mayhem. To the fur of the fog.

PDX, I'll miss you. You have some fantastic citizens. And some weird sexy eeriness.

The other day a met a sushi chef. She was lovely. I wanted to work with her. I wanted to buy her a drink. My first experience behind a sushi bar, I was being trained by a beautiful older Japanese woman, tough and sexy, smart and funny. She's somewhere in Italy now, with her children and their children. I'm somewhat aware of what's unorthodox sushi-wise (I'm a honky), but some of the best sushi chefs I've ever known were women.

I may be to Japan and back before I work behind a sushi bar again. Maybe that sushi bar will be mine.

I have to go buy some dashi for my miso.

Youtube is a succubus.

I swear I had something important to write this time. Oh well. PewPewsplatt. Later

FUCK! My sunglasses are all gone. Of the last three pairs I've had, two have bee lost, and the third eaten by a dog. What the shit?

I've had some anxiety dreams lately. Of car crashes and treachery and silent stares. A full night's sleep is a rarity of late. I toss and turn with pain between my shoulder blades and I wake up thinking about food and love. Last night it wasn't so bad, and I think I even dreamed something good. I just wish I could remember what.

I met some beautiful women last night. I felt shy.

I gave my notice at work. Then they laid me off. I'm not eligible for unemployment because of the time I spent working on cabins upon the mountaintop growing my beard. It was off the books. I do have an extended catering gig coming up that will pay very well. I just have to consider the few vegans and vegetarians and their special needs

Ever been to Japan?

I've been trying to talk like this guy sings.

It's become quite a habit. Try it. You'll see what I mean.

I'm in Sacramento. I came down for an old friend's wedding in Stockton. It was a hit. Lots of old friends. Lots of booze. Lots of food. Not too many single girls. Of course, by the time I worked up the nerve to start dancing with any of the few laydeez that were there, I was a little intoxicated. I didn't offend anyone, magically. We had fun. I'm still not sure if monogamy is my thing, but more power to the newlyweds. I hope it lasts forever.

I'm flying back to PDX this evening. Flying back to collect unemployment and commence the shedding of my little possesions so I can travel more lightly. There's some world out there.

I'm going to go get some pho.

Yeah so, um, well, ......

I'm moving this week.
From NE to SE, but I'll be right there on Burnside. So getting anywhere in town from home is going to be that much easier. I'll be right by Tabor too. The sunset will be much more accessible.

I gave my notice at work the other day. They haven't lived up to their promises and I have other shit to do anyway. Its time to go.

I've been reading posts for teaching opportunties overseas. They're all pretty similar depending on the country, but I have to research some of these places to see what the physical and social landscape of the place is like. I also have to find a respected school that's not going to screw me.

Come January, I plan to be halfway across the world. Hopefully in a beautiful place.

Labor Day.

I woke up and played records. Deodato, Herbie Mann, Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band, Herb Alpert, Marvin Gaye, The O'Jay's, War, Quincy Jones, Roy Ayers, Hugh Massekela, & Herbie Hancock. Fuck! I need more records.

I got a massage the other day. It felt great enough for me to doze off, but the feeling didn't last after I'd been at work for a few hours. I need more yoga.

I'm fucking hungry. I do have a few kabocha squash. I think I'm going to roast them with garlic and butter and then serve them with sauteed okra, & a coconut curry sauce. I'm having trouble deciding on a meat, but grilled shrimp seems pretty obvious. Then I'll have to get some red bell pepper too. Shit! I need more food.

And Its Hot TOO

I woke up in a puddle of my own sweat. It could have been worse. Its fucking hot. Not Haute, not Hawt. H-O-Motherfucking-T, HOT. Don't like.

I took a cold shower. It took 10minutes for the water to cool down. HOT.

I went to the store. I bought juice, water, gatorade, grapes, juice, water, plums. Juice. Its Hot.

HOT.

Also Hot: Biggie Shorty

I may start selling/ giving away all my stuff. It will make moving to another country so much easier if I don't have a bunch of shit to worry about. I have to be selective though. I'm going to bring dvd's, books, comics, magazines, some records with me. I think they'll be good for tutoring. They'll probably help to buffer the culture shock and homesickness I'll inevitably experience.

I read something a while back about the principle of shedding all material posessions and how liberating it can be. I've been a bit of a packrat over the years and I definitely don't need all the things I've accumulated. Have you ever just up and got rid of all your belongings? Ever considered it?
