Since it's technically fall and today the weather matches I thought I'd write a blog about my summer.
Well, about 2 weeks after my kitty, Tyler, passed away I was rear ended.

I ended up with whiplash and have been in physical therapy for months. I actually just found out from the MRI I had done last Friday that I have a couple herniated and torn discs and a few other issues. Needless to say, I am still in pain. I had to quit kickball because right now I'm not allowed to run, bend, lift etc. I have an appointment with a lawyer on Tuesday.
Speaking of Tyler, wysh's father painted me this picture of him.

I got to meet Charlie Adlard, artist for The Walking Dead. He signed my comics.

I spent 4th of July at rebel_rebel's downtown condo watching fireworks.

Then work started to get to me so I skipped a day and wysh and I explored a bit of Florida

One of my former client's owns a segway tour place so he took wysh and I on a free mini-tour. It was our first time on a segway. It was really easy and fun, even though it looks absolutely ridiculous.

I finally had enough at work. They refused to let me take a few weeks off to deal with my back issues so I just gave my notice instead. I spent a lot of time applying for jobs and drinking and hanging out.
At one of the bars that I did some of that drinking at wysh won me this weird fluffy stuffed cat wearing fatigues

But it was our friend's birthday so we decided he should have it.

I got a number of job offers and I finally settled on a non-profit. It was less money than most of the offers, but it felt like the right choice.
wysh decided that since I was about to have to return to the working world that we should have a summer vacation so we booked a room on South Beach and away we went.
On the way down we got to visit Ginary & Chera. We drank and played rock band and had a blast.

Their cats were even sweet.

Ginary & Chera being the super awesome people that they are let us crash in their guest room.
Then we made our way to Miami so I could get some dunnies signed by Huck Gee He was the real reason we decided to go to Miami as opposed to somewhere else

We spent the rest of our time in Miami relaxing, drinking, eating, going to the beach and just walking everywhere. We parked our car when we arrived and didn't get in it again until we were leaving 4 days later.

Then last weekend we decided to take out the toy camera's and visit The Senator

We also visited Mead Gardens and took pics. We still need to get the filmed developed but here are some pics from the digital.

And now we are up to now and time for me to clean my bathroom and go to the grocery store before Zombietoberfest tonight.

I look at kittens all of the time and of course I want to take them all home with me, but I've never been instantly and deeply in love with a little one in cage as I was with Tyler. 13 years ago I was still married to my ex and when I met Tyler I was told no...we can't have another cat, but I knew Tyler and I were meant to be together. Tyler was the last of his litter. He was black and white and the rest of his litter mates were orange tabbies who happened to be more desirable at the time. He was so sweet, had an amazing little voice and lots of stories to tell me. I cried non-stop until my ex gave in and the next day as soon as they allowed I was there to adopt my boy.

He was such a tiny little guy and Bettie even put up with him, though neither of these things remained that way for long.

Tyler was truly my best friend. He and I played together and napped together and he was my shoulder to cry on through all of my life changes.

Nine years went by and I adopted Jello and Tyler, being the amazing guy he is, immediately took him in. He and Jello became inseparable. They played together and ate together and slept together. Ty even carried Jello around like he was his kitten.

I became a foster mom for special needs kitties and Tyler was always patient and loving with the new kitties that passed through our home. Eventually we added one of the foster boys to our home and Tyler loved him as he loved Jello. The 3 boys were always together and the best of friends.
Then, in 2008, Tyler lost the use of his back legs. He was diagnosed with saddle thrombosis. A blood clot that is very painful and usually results in death. Nearly $4K, a team of neurologists and internal medicine specialist later he survived.

His recovery was hard, but he never showed any sign of pain. He was strong and a fighter and within weeks was back to his normal self again. He had some residual neurological damage that resulted is some urination accidents, but overall he was back.
He had lots of great days where he was his same self and some days where he was a little more tired or sore than normal but he was a survivor who wanted to keep on keeping on. We had another 3 years of joy together. 3 years of playing and naps and treats and toys. 3 years of loving his brothers and having them love him. 3 years of normal vet visits and overall healthiness.

This past month was especially great for him. He was in a wonderful mood, playing and even losing weight. But, late Tuesday night he became a bit lethargic. He was still eating and would walk, but only a few feet before lying down. So the vet trips began, first the regular vet, then home, the the ER, then the specialist. Thursday he was jaundiced and anemic and in extremely critical condition. After blood transfusion #1 though, he perked back up. Started moving around and talking and we really thought he had a chance. The 1st goal was to get him stable so we could figure out what was causing his illness. It could've been cancer or lupus or any other numbers of auto-immune diseases. After x-rays and ultra-sounds and various blood tests we still had no answers. His heart and lungs looked fine and his abdomen had a small pocket of fluid, but too small to even get a sample. He seemed stable though and testing was continuing. Then on Friday morning I got the worst call ever. He was crashing again...time for blood transfusion #3 and they suggested I come be with him asap. I immediately headed out and when I got there it was obvious that he was tired and sick and it was dire. He did try to get out and move around a bit. He rolled over for a tummy rub and held my hand. It just felt different this time, like he was holding on for my sake. I sat with him, petting and singing to and loving him while the transfusion was done. Unfortunately, this one wasn't like the others. He didn't immediately perk up. He was panting and his breathing was heavy and forced. It was time to let my baby, my best friend, my Ty rest. We were taken to a small waiting type room with benches and chairs and lots of tissues. I held him cuddled in a blanket for what seemed like forever and like no time at all at the same time. I talked to him and told him it was okay and that I would be okay and that he could finally relax. I thanked him for his strength and for fighting a good fight and for being the best kitty in the entire world. After 30 minutes or so the doctor came in and explained how euthanasia worked, about how it didn't hurt at all, about how we'd use the same line as the transfusion so he wouldn't even feel a needle prick, about how it was the right thing to do for him. The doctors cried, the nurses cried and I cried. They gave me a few more minutes alone with Ty and then the doctor came in and gave him a sedative. He immediately relaxed. I kissed him and held him close and then it was time for the last shot. Almost instantly he went limp and my baby was gone.
I still can't stop crying and my other boys miss him too so I'm trying to be an extra good mommy right now for them. I miss him so much, but he is finally at peace. He is being cremated and I'll be able to pick him up along with a paw print in a few days. It will be all I have left of my best friend, well that and the memories which are plentiful and beautiful and happy.
At least we tried our best, I got him the best care money could buy and he fought hard, but everything must come to an end eventually and I'm just so lucky that I could be with him, holding him in my arms when his time came.

Last week wysh and I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The airport ended up being absolutely terrible, but I didn't know that yet...

I learned to never fly Spirit again. There was a passport snafu and wysh ended up in Miami. It's a long story and one I'll let wysh share.
Luckily, wysh was able to make it the Mexico the same day.

The next day we visited a Mayan ruin in Coba

We biked

We hiked the 2nd tallest Mayan temple

I'm scared of heights so the trip to the top was a scary one

I scraped my leg

We visited a Mayan village

Hiked through the jungle

Ziplined

Rappelled into a cenote

And were blessed by a shaman

The next day we went Xelha, which is a natural water park. We cliff dove, snorkeled, swam in an underwater cave, ate & drank

Saw lots of animals

The next day we snorkeled to a reef and swam among sea turtles. Afterward we hiked to a cenote and swam

The last day we visited the beach by our hotel

And went to a little hidden away bar where when we ordered a a beer they brought tapas style food out and with each beer came more food. They also had dancers and a children's playground.

And the last night we went out with the folks from our trip

Including the two best tours guides ever

Since being back I have just been super busy with work and laundry.

Yeah, I really suck at blogging anymore.
I've been quite busy since the last blog, but I won't bore you with all of the details. Here are some highlights...
I got a new job. I actually am sooo happy & I fucking love my job. I mean it's work, but it's seriously the best job I've ever had. It is not easy, as it's sales and I'm not exactly a "sales person", but so far so good. I guess it is like anything, if you work hard you can be successful even if it is outside one's comfort zone.
wysh and I swam with manatees in Crystal River, FL. It's the only place where it's legal to swim with / touch them. They are such docile creatures. I was actually in the water for 3 hours straight and the baby manatee loved that I scratched her back so she hung out with me almost the entire time

We also visited the Weeki Wachee mermaids.

And we went to the Dali museum, but no pics there.
I visited the zoo with SGFL as it is our annual tradition.

I went to a luau.

Visited SeaWorld.

Made a trip to the Kennedy Space Center.

Went biolumenescent kayaking with wysh, Papa wysh and PaulNikon. Sadly, it was dark and wet so we took no photos. It was super awesome though and I suggest everyone do it.
And just this past weekend attended Zombietoberfest with wysh, Harper, TheDomfather & DragonsKiss. I dressed like a zombie and drank alot.

I'm sure I forgot a lot, but that pretty much catches you up on my life.

So, yesterday was the Mascot games.
In case you don't know what that is...it is basically 30 mascots from sports teams across the country competing in a variety of games.
Also, lots of vendors are there with their mascots, such as the Bubba Gump Shrimp.

wysh and I had a blast as usual. Maybe a little more fun than last year for a couple of reasons.
1) The mascots brought their 'A' games this year

2) We got to sit behind this sexiness with the hot Staind tattoo...we could hardly contain ourselves...the mom shorts and see through shirt were just too much

3) We drank
4) After the games I really wanted a picture with the badger, so we rushed the field and were able to get lots of pics with the mascots.
BADGER ATTACK!!!

Globie was not a fan of the beer so I decided to start being a tad inappropriate

Eventually, I was able to convince wysh that mascot pics were too much fun!

4) We were on the winning team!

I've been busy with adventures and work.
Went to Boston for Wysh's sister's wedding.
Wearing a Tampa Bay Rays shirt there was not the best Idea...we got terrible service everywhere, but I didn't care

I drank...

And acted as an honorary bridesmaid

I even danced....kinda

I drank some more.
Classy mixed drink in ginger bottle

Not as classy martini

Once the wedding festivities were over we spent a few days drinking...I mean, hanging out with Wysh's friends from college

Played Buckhunter and GoldenTee

Drank more

Met random girls named Kelli "with an I"

Physically and sexually assaulted unsuspecting statues

For Memorial day we decided to take in the sights of the city. I started by watching Wysh and his friends ride and ass bareback (that joke never gets old
)

We went to a cemetery

Visited the U.S.S. Constitution "Old Iron Sides"

And even took a sunset cruise

Once we got back to Orlando, it was time for Star Wars weekend at Disney's Hollywood Studios. So PaulNikon, Wysh and myself braved the heat for some Star Wars action

Then it was time to do some work, so off to Jacksonville I went for a week. On Thursday, Wysh took a bus to see me. We drank...

Went to the beach

Hung out

Played pool...where I was able to lodge 2 balls in one hole

Went to the Budweiser brewery

Became a brewmaster

And drank from a finishing cask

The following week wysh and I took a random trip to Warner Robins, GA with jinger for her fiances high school reunion. We decided to be as wasted as possible for the entire trip there.

We finished the trip off by making my first trip to Hooters ever

work, work, work, work and work some more is all I'm doing as of late.
I am exhausted, but it is something completely different so it will take a awhile to learn and adjust.
At least I only have 2 more sales to make my 1st month quota and 3 to get my 1 st month bonus...when I hit those 2 goals I'll feel a lot better
I still be busting my butt but without the mental stress.
Boston at the end of this month...yay!!!
