I should be doing something else right now instead of this.
Went to see my dad down in S.D. this past weekend.
Caught something while down there and feel like crap now.
All I wanna do is lay down and rest.
I've got so much shit to do.

Fuck,Fuck Fuckity, fuck. That hurt.
I think it had something to do with the topical medication I'm on that has made my skin more sensitive, but fuck that hurt. The last time I had work done on my back was way back in 1993 I did three 4 to 4 1/2 hour sittings. About 13-14 hours total. Last night I barely made it through an 1 1/2 hour sitting. Granted it had been 12 years since I got tattooed but still. The medication made it feel like Misha was still tattooing the parts she already finished. At the end my whole back felt like it was burning. When we got home I had to put an ice pack on it to help with all the swelling.
But here it is.
The Gray area will settle down in a few days as it heals. I'll post another photo then.
I've had the center of my back open since getting the rest of my back done 15 years ago. I knew someday I'd find something to fill it. After Katrina I knew I wanted a Fleur de Lis on me some where. I thought one rising with the phoenix would be perfect. I've wanted it for two years. I was going to get it last year on the anniversary of Katrina with one of my best friends from New Orleans and the best man at my wedding. But she had turned into a crazy junkie and as some of you know drove Misha and I nuts while she was here last Labor day weekend. So after the Third anniversary of Katrina and the fact New Orleans just made it through Gustav I finally got it done.
I think its going to be another 12 years before Misha tattoos me again.

It's going to hit the U.S. (hopefully not New Orleans) during the Republican National Convention. I've never really been political other than the old "Smash the State" cliche'. But I hope the looming disaster will be a reminder that we need to move in another direction.
I watched Obama's speech the other night. While I'm way to cynical to think he'll ever get elected (much less live till Nov 4th) I do think things need to "change" in this country. I just hope we don't have to sacrifice any more lives of our southern brothers & sisters for it to happen.
