Well, this is going to be my last post for a couple of weeks. We've still had no contact from any of my family in Gulfport, and I am going to go and check on them. I'm not at all sure what I will find there. My greatest hope is that I will find them all smiling on the front porch and they will laugh and call me an idiot for driving so far and getting so worried about them.

It seems odd that I've let myself get all worked up about this in such a short time. I didn't even notice anything was wrong until Wednesday. By the time I went to bed Thursday morning - and ever since - I've been in a semi-panic. I love old people, and I can't stand to think of my family suffering.

Anyway, this all seems rather crazy and reckless, but I'm compelled to do it. I hope I'm not making a mistake.

My plan is to take food, water, gas, and utensils in with me. I want to find out what happend to my family, help them or bring them out if I do find them, or give away the stuff I bring if I can't. I believe I'll be safe. The National Guard and Red Cross have been in Gulfport for three days now. They were even putting in power and brining in gas to Biloxi just up the coast, and so I'm very hopeful about what I'll find when I get there.

What the fuck. I was planning on taking a vacation anyway.
