I have a feeling that the week is gonna go by really slow or really fast, depending.

The things I like about work:

- I get an hour to read in the morning before going in
- The other cashier I work with is hilarious/really nice
- I get free coffee and free lunch
- I make $10 or more in tips every day, and I only work 6 hours (I made 45 dollars in 3 days)
- Time goes by pretty quickly once it's around lunch hour
- I get paid pretty well for being a cashier (8.00 an hour)
- We serve all organic food as well as a lot of veggie/vegan options
- We close at 3:30 so no matter what I'm out of there by 4
- We're only open Monday through Friday
- I'm the only girl that works there, which is interesting sometimes
- My boss brought a handle of rum into work

Things I don't like about work:

- I think the cooks make fun of me in spanish
- I mess up from time to time and it embarrasses me
- I get nervous about making deliveries
- My back/legs hurt a lot
- I feel like I have very little time to relax/sleep
- I have to take the 8:21 train because the 9:02 train would get me to work too late
- I mess up a lot when it comes to preparing to-go items or coffee
- I get bored after the other cashier leaves and things slow down from 3 to 4
- I may have to work the other cashier's shift when he goes on vacation and I don't feel prepared for that
- It's really hard to close by myself, especially when I have to move the drink cooler which weighs a lot
- I'm bad at answering phones

I need to buy things for my Delirium costume for Wizard this weekend. I also get pizz-aid this Friday. But it'll only be about 140 bucks. I only get paid for my first week and then the Friday after this one I start getting paid every two weeks. I should get paid about 480 dollars every two weeks (not including tax, but that kind of gets made up by tips).

Also, for those of you who are cashiers and make tips, do you keep track of them for taxes? I was told by my ma I should but most cashiers don't get tips.

I'm excited... The Swell Season on 17th and Willie Nelson on the 20th.

dont keep track of tips. Put $0 on your taxes. That's on the taxes for people who live off tips (waiters), not people who make some occasional money from it.

I've worked in the pizza business for several years. We thrive on tips. I've only known two drivers who ever claimed their tips.

Glad to hear the job is going well so far.

I was going to tell you a heartwarming tale of how your tiny birthday flower was flattened in a thunderstorm but sprang back to be as beautiful as before and you could draw inspiration from the way in which even that which appears delicate and fragile can have an inner resilience that belies its appearance.

However...

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

My brother came round yesterday and cleaned moss and weeds out from the driveway and the flower along with them frown
