Wow, it's March already (actually almost April) and this is my second blog of the new year! Gotta stay more in touch with my peeps, but so much has been going...please forgive me!
1) I was hoping to have some good news to post at this time about the job hunt saga, but alas, I do not. Still looking for a job as a scientist in the NY area. I think I fall into the category of being too qualified because of my doctorate degree but then under qualified for not having enough work experience, or companies just don't want to pay me the big bucks I deserve. I dunno, still trying to figure it out. I try to stay positive and say that when one door closes, another opens, but when will that happen?!??? I know it takes time to find the right job, but dammit, enough already! Thanks to all who have been sending love and support my way during this difficult time. Your encouragement means a lot to me!
2) I've been toying with the idea of taking down some sets. I've already took down my first set, that was quite bad. Which other ones do you want to see go? Or should any others be deleted??
3) I got another kitten...her name is Elphaba! Any guesses as to where her name comes from??
Sunbathing with Kitty!
The weather has been getting warmer, which is perfect for taking some time to think and reflect!
1) Seems like I'm in the same boat as last year...the job search sucks! If you know of anyone that needs a scientist in the NY/NJ/CT area, please let me know!! It doesn't matter what field you are in, the job market is a bust (thanks to the US government/economy). All the hard work that I did to achieve a graduate degree in the sciences seems like such a waste now.
2) And this kinda bothers me....why am I NOT pink?? Why hasn't my new set gone on the FP??? I think I've earned the right to be pissed at this point with having 8 sets submitted (not counting my first, amateur set). Seriously, I'm not even gonna go into the logistics, but I've worked hard on all of my sets even if some weren't FP worthy. I think I got what it takes...don't you?!?!???
Please keep voting/commenting and let staff know what you really think!
Thanks for all the support...you know who you are!
December is finally here! I've been a busy lil Santa's helper, but first, here's a quick photo dump/update...
Finally finished reading this:
And finally got to see the musical on Broadway!!!
Got a cool new T-shirt as a gift! Gonna rock that!
Went to a cat and dog show...I want a Bengal cat, just sayin.'
And a Huskie!
Trying to get into an 'Ohm' state-of-mind.
Turkish rice pudding is the shit, you should try it if you get the chance!! OMG! *drool*
Sparkly new underwear is good! WINNING!! (Is that phrase too played out and over and done with?? lol Who cares, I'm gonna push the envelope and use it! Yeah bitches, 'cause I'm craazzzzzzyyyy like that!)
It's getting cold here in NYC, time to bundle up!
Getting into the holiday spirit!
My wreath
Jingle bells, Batman smells...

What plans do you have for the holidays???
And if you want a Christmas card from me, send me your address so I can hook you up with a bad ass card and all that holiday cheer crap! lol
So how was everyone's Thanksgiving?? What did you do?? I think I am still stuffed after all I ate! Since my family is still vacationing in New Zealand, I got to spend the holiday with some friends who were also orphans for the day. We headed down to Little Italy for a vegan dinner...that right's, you heard me, NO turkey for me!! I opted for the veggie pasta dish and white wine!
I then proceeded to have a Mochaccino and a slice of chocolate ganache cake!!! Mmmmmmmmmmmm, it was soooo good!!! The darker the chocolate, the better!
I didn't stop there, I then went on to have another slice of cake, but this time it was an Oreo cheesecake!! OMG, I think I died and gone to heaven!!!!
It was soooooo delicious! After that I couldn't eat another bite and I had to work extra hard at the gym the following day to work off all that food! I refused to spend Black Friday in insane shopping centers.
In other furry news, I went to a cat and dog show recently and saw so many cool and interesting breeds! I got a super comfy bed and blanket for Kitty!! She loves it! All hail The Queen!!!
Sooooo since December is rapidly approaching (actually tomorrow), does anyone want a Christmas card from yours truly??!?!? If so, please send me your address and a card will be sent your way filled with holiday cheer via Mitska style!

I leave you with a parting thought...find anything you can on cat zombies and post it. Why you may ask, 'cause I love cats and zombies, why not combine the two! Let's see what makes it to my wishlist! And GOOOOOOOO!
First off, THANK YOU to each and every one of you for voting on my latest set!!! It's so enjoyable to read each comment! Alissa, Sunshine, Luscious, and I worked really hard to bring you something special and I think we succeeded!! Please check out Only Comes Out At Night and give it some more love so that, one day, it might make it to the front page!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!
Watch the set come alive with this little video teaser we took during the shoot!
Some of my fave pics from the set:
Second, what are you doing for Thanksgiving?? Any special plans? My family deserted me to go on vacation to New Zealand. No worries, me and my cat will spend the day relaxing and vegging out. I do plan to see this movie over the weekend!
Fueled up the night before the race with 2 pasta dishes!! Mmmmmmmm! My tummy was happy!
Now you see it...
...now you don't!
Racing shoes are a go!
47,000 runners waiting to start in Staten Island.
And we keep waiting and waiting.
Made the start in Wave #1, watch this cool view! Try and find me!!! lol
Visited all 5 boroughs! Mile #20 was where my body felt the pain of the race take a toll, but surprisingly, my feet didn't hurt that bad. I popped a Gu and pushed my way to the finish line in Central Park, nothing was going to stop me! My official time was 3 hours, 46 mins, and 25 secs. I even found my name in the NY Times! Congrats to all the runners and winners!!!
My victory shot, I was exhausted!
My prize possession!
In other news...glad to still find post-Halloween sales! I found this mug that came with a plush toy and had to snatch it! I named him Shaun. Get it, Shaun, from Shaun of the Dead?!?!?!!?? I'm corny, I know.
Getting my baking skills ready for this weekend's Autumnal Festival for the SG-NY group! Check out the details here for more info. I agreed to bake cupcakes and brownies, so you know I'm gonna love every minute of it!!
Guess what else is coming up??? My new set to hit MR on Monday, Nov. 21st!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for this to be "the one!" Wanna see a sneak peak???
I'm trying to hold myself back from giving away too much, but trust me, you don't wanna miss it! Alissa, Sunshine, Luscious, and I worked really hard on it and it came out AMAZING!!!! So excited...Eeeeeeeeeeee!
"I've come here to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of bubble gum."
-John Carpenter movie starring Roddy Piper...Pop quiz: What movie was it???? Winner gets prize behind door #1
The NYC Marathon race day is TOMORROW!!!! Gotta get ready for the big day:
Shirt...check!
Sneakers...check!
Running tights...check!
Energy gels...check!
I keep trying to remind myself to have fun and not focus on time, form, etc, but it's hard not to. I want to finish, but also finish with a good time (preferably under 4 hours would be great) and not be in too much pain. I over think and analyze too much, and forget to enjoy the experience. This is the downside of being a scientist...I critically analyze everything!!! This run isn't about competing with others, it's about personally improving in myself as a runner and seeing NYC come alive with sight and sound. Entertaining music blasting and thousands of people cheering each other on. This is what makes New York unique!
So since today is my birthday...gonna spend it relaxing and fueling up for tomorrow!
This old lady is gonna BRING IT! I hope to report back with some good results and pictures!!
Until next time...
I've been baking up a storm ova here! Getting ready for Halloween treats and goodies!
Cupcakes galore!
I made some pumpkin spice muffins...Mmmmmm!
Spooky kitty cookies!
...And then there were only a few left.
Festive socks
When I see a sign, I do as I am told...
Yummy!
Squishy...
...meets his match!!! Crazy shenanigans that take place. Not sure why it uploaded side ways.
Some horror movies I've been watching this month:
Loved this!
This is one of my faves...so funny, yet has scary moments!
Didn't care for this one. It was actually boring and took forever to get to certain moments. I guess I was expecting something else. Oh well.
I love vampires and Brad Pitt, so this is a win!
Great zombie movie!! Coming from a scientist point of view, it kinda makes me feel like this could actually happen one day.
And this is also one of my faves! Christian Bale does a great job portraying a psychotic serial killer with a strange affinity to sleek, elegant business cards. lol And he's also eye candyt!!
Any recommendations for my horror movie fest??
I did some further decorating:
Time to carve the 40 pound pumpkin and give it an evil design!
I cooked the seeds.
Also my Kitty got into the holiday spirit! Although she doesn't look too thrilled to be dressed up. Lol
What else have I been doing??...Well, I've been training for the NYC Marathon which is next Sunday, Nov 6th!! Kinda nervous!!! I think I will be able to cross the finish line, but I am worried I will be in a lot of pain. I just hope I can keep any injuries from happening. I've been looking through my iPod and figuring out what music playlist I should create for the big day. Some music to keep me moving and running!!
There are so many more, but this is what I came up with so far. Please feel free to give me recommendations. It doesn't matter what genre as long as it keeps me moving and grooving!!
Wish me luck...I'm gonna need it!
Also...mark your calendars on Nov 21st for my NEW SET to hit MR (shot by the amazing Alissa!!!
Keep your eyes out for more teasers to pop up soon!! But for now...
