First new year blog...let the venting begin:

1) Seems like I'm in the same boat as last year...the job search sucks! whateverconfused If you know of anyone that needs a scientist in the NY/NJ/CT area, please let me know!! It doesn't matter what field you are in, the job market is a bust (thanks to the US government/economy). All the hard work that I did to achieve a graduate degree in the sciences seems like such a waste now. frownwhatever

2) And this kinda bothers me....why am I NOT pink?? Why hasn't my new set gone on the FP??? madconfused I think I've earned the right to be pissed at this point with having 8 sets submitted (not counting my first, amateur set). Seriously, I'm not even gonna go into the logistics, but I've worked hard on all of my sets even if some weren't FP worthy. I think I got what it takes...don't you?!?!???

Please keep voting/commenting and let staff know what you really think! wink

A well-deserved rant. Sexiest scientist ever. You should have been pink a long, long time ago.

wish I could help on the job front - I've been looking myself for quite some time! Biomed scientist, or physicist scientist or other?

I have a feeling 2012 will be your year for color change

It baffles me, too. I've thought you should be FP from the beginning.

Good luck with the job search. I can sympathize. After all, despite all my artistic talent, I'm still working primarily at a grocery store.

It blows my mind that you havent hit front page yet. Im getting really bored with the same sets over and over and over. I think they need to think outside of the bedroom box because I cant keep track of models because SG sets are not really mind blowing anymore. Plus the MR section is a load in my opinion. Keep trying and if you dont go pink I think you need to move to bigger and better things.

The SG selection process is beyond mystrerious... it's down right unfathomable. You are MORE than desrving of a place on the FP. 1200 + comments on your last two sets are proof of that wink So don't give up. I've seen sets go live a year after they enetered MR. I'm sure SG will soon realise what they're missing out on by not having you "on the team" so to speak wink

Best of luck on the job front! I wish i could help... but I'm not exactly in the neighborhood. tongue If you ever concider moving overseas though i could probably make a few phone calls.

in the last few years, it seems there has been a shift in hiring practices. people used to get jobs because of hard work and dedication. now, it's as though you just have to know the right people. i wish you well in your hunt.

as for not going pink yet, i don't get it. it's my personal opinion that this should have happened some time ago. i've seen some ladies go pink with 1 or 2 sets, that, in my opinion, aren't that great. but they're very active and, I THINK, have made friends with certain people that have pushed for them to go pink. i don't know how active you are in groups and what not, but that might be something to think about.

Don't get me started on MR which I think is a big con. It's supposed to be our votes that get the set's on to the front page, but in reality that doesn't seem to happen, your last 2 sets well over 1200 should you would think get a front page slot, yet if you were staff you are almost certain to get FP with only a handful of votes.
Don't give though, you really are lovely and well worthy of front page status

As for the job front I wish you luck in your search, its been the same here for last couple of years with students finishing uni only to find there are no jobs, I do feel sorry for you all and hope that something comes along soon.

Hope you have a great weekendkiss

I'm completely baffled by why you haven't gone pink yet, your sets - even the amateur one are just gorgeous, I'm speechless whenever I see a new set from you. They are far far better than most of the ones that hit the front page over the last few weeks.

Job hunting is always horrible, I'm sending all my good luck to you in the hope that people wake up and realise how awesome you are.

You are smart and beautiful, both will come in time. Don't rush the job thing, as rushing can lead to making a wrong decision and not being happy.

As for Pink, well, you're a Suicide Girl to most of us. smile

Oh my goodness, yes.
Let's see. Nice body, tat's, piercings, beautiful face, varied poses and angles, good location...exactly what they tell aspiring models they want. Except for you, apparently, because they're lame. The FP sets lately have just been underwhelming (and a lot of already established SG's, which is kind of obnoxious), for the most part. And then there's fantastic, beautiful women like you who've been Hopefuls for simply ages. It makes me sad, and it makes me not want to try here because their selection methods seem unbalanced and inaccurate, and I don't want to get left in the dust because of it.
It really is a damn shame.
I'd look for a job job, versus a career atm while you look for a scientist position. So you don't have to rush looking for the perfect post because you're income-less.

take the time now to hunt for another job or try a different field and go for other qualifications....a degree has you where you are now, even though you haven't found your niche....stick at it, stay positive and the doors will open!!smile

I agree with the sentiments above...it seems our votes matter little.....the site is becoming more conservative and less of a pioneer...in other words...boring...frown

we still love your work and you make lab coats and science interesting again....lolbiggrin

While I have a job and it's a decent one, I know it's hard to find something along the lines of an awesome job (ala one that pays pretty good and is in the same field of studies), but I wish the best for you! Unfortunately, I'm a little distant to hear about any job calls your direction and Ohio doesn't seem to be in the need of scientists (what's that about?) so.... yeah. frown
As for going front page, well, you know I think you've deserved it a long time coming! I don't know what's up with the current politics of FP, but it sure seems to be a lot more politics than anything these days. It's a shame, really. No matter what the current deal is, you'll always be able to count on my support, though! wink
