Whew. One more week out to sea starting tomorrow. My home is really starting to feel like a hotel. Or a place where I can do laundry, get a beer, sleep and have my life's worth affirmed by a little person who calls me Mommy and demands stories. But today we read about Gibbons and other mokeys and apes with red butts. Parenthood rocks.

I am the proud new owner of a Scion xB. If you could see me, I would be glowing. Here's a picture, I AM glowing, but the picture is a little too fuzzy to tell. I'm not a big fan of the car buying process, but it went okay and I got to drive it home. I'l miss my Gryphon, but he served me well and it was time to move on. Now all I have to do it name the new one. Hmmm...Conundrum time.

And I understand now why my Dad was so anal retentive about grill cleaning. It's very therapeutic. Soothing, really, in a way that it is most definitely not if you are not the one cleaning. Have a great day everyone!

Took little man to see March of the Penguins yesterday. WoW! So good. heartbreaking and beautiful and cute. I never knew that much about penguins. But I think the hubby and I got more out of it than the boy. If you're a discovery channel junkie like me, go see it. (And it doesn't hurt that I could lisen to Morgan Freeman talk all day...) I've had an unprecedented four days off this week (well three and tomorrow...) so we're getting to do cool stuff. I also got some battery operated chinese lanterns for my patio, they look super cute, barbecued sausages yesterday in the newly lanterned goodness. AND I got a cheap radio that I can listen to outdoors while I grill. Hooray! I'm feeling very at home here now, and feeling at home makes me happy. Hope everyone is having a chill relaxed weekend like me!!

Fred MotherFucking Astaire, Bitches.

Tell me where it came from and you will have earned a forever friend. Except you, MarginWalker, you don't get to answer. Beacuse you know, and because we've done a cruise. You have already earned the distinction.

Whew. What a day. Breakfast at the Omelette Factory this morning, the CPO select car wash around noon after preparing the chicken for dinner (lemon & rosemary marinade, yum...) then the pool and some laps, grilling dinner and taking down the dumb hedge thing at the same time, then I got my second wind after dinner and took the whole hedge out. And then went to wal mart and bought a saw to finish the job. Whew. I feel good. Hope everyone is having a great weekend...

Sigh. My day. Well, first I was gone for a week. Crappy. Not an altogether bad underway, but any underway at all is not good. So today was interesting. Mostly work shit. But I had a really nice talk with a good friend today and he told me I crack him up. This, in and of itself, would not be noteworthy except for the fact that said friends life is going in the crapper and he spends most of his time being sad and looking down (upset, I mean, not at the floor). I feel a lot better when I can make him smile. Joking around I asked him what he would do without me and he looked me square in the face and said "I don't know. Thanks." I felt kind of humbled. But glad that I mean that much to him. Making him happy makes me happy.

Word of advice to all of my real life friends. When you go to a sex toy party and make purchases (even if you don't) please don't tell me about it. Sex toys don't gross me out. But sometimes thinking of the two of you having sex does. Sorry.

Ummm, I might have the station wagon sold in a few days if I get a new battery and she runs. Yay! Nice guy came and looked at her and took about 38000 pictures, but I couldn't get her running good enough to test drive. So it's new battery time. And time for me to look for a new ride. I want a newer, daily driver wagon. We'll see.

Anyway, hope you all are having a good week so far!!

The word of the day is

No-one in the world ever gets what they want and that is beautiful.
Everybody dies frustrated and sad and that is beautiful.

Why on earth are TMBG always right? Maybe giants have some special "seeing the world like it really is" powers. Them and Liz Phair. But she's not a giant. She's only 6'1".

Anyway, have a pleasant weekend and a good week. Off to shop for FOOD with the boys!!

RIP Crockett! He's the little one...
Who is Crockett? And NO, Don Johnson is just fine.See?

I'll miss him, he was really active for a few days. But I think he didn't make the trip very well. Live things don't like to be mailed.

Hope everyone else is happy!
