Applied to be in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers when I was 18 but was put on the reserve list, I dont think I could take the discipline now though to be honest 
I have been to Cali twice now and loved it both times. Spent most of the time in Northern Ca where my relatives live nr SF. Visited LA to go to Disney way back in '92 I think
What job do you do in the military, there is an Army base really close to where I live and work. Quite a few of the kids I work with in School each year join up as they are from Army families.
