Hump day, standing on the top of the hill, looking down the back slope of yet another god forsaken work week. Friday, where are you my friend?
Romance Vs. Materialism. Materialism Wins in a Shut Out!
Well, between work and a relationship I haven't taken time to post much of anything. now that that relationship is over, I guess I'll be writing something every now and again. Getting to that, I made the mistake of getting involved with a woman who had just come off of a long term relationship filled with argument after argument, general unhappiness and multiple break ups over eight years. Her ex was the total opposite of me. He had a nice house, fancy cars, money and of course is a pompous ass. To him she was just another shiny pretty thing to own. He had everything it seemed, except enough money to buy a her real engagement ring, as she found out that what she had was a cubic zirconia. Anyhow, she wanted to bringing her mother, who lived in a third world country, to the US. That it was the breaking point with her ex as he didn't want anything to do with her mom. She moved out on her own, brought her mom to the us to live with her and we had a great time. I smothered her with romance and showed her that little acts of thoughtfulness could out match driving around in a nice car anytime. She loved it saying that it was something she has always wanted but never had found in her relationships. Well, after an on again off again relationship with her (each time it was off she was tight on money and turned to the ex, i found out) , I lost. As big of an ass as he is, as many problems they had, etc. etc., she's trying to work it out with him again and has shut me out. I wouldn't have put myself through the whole thing if it weren't from the fact that she was the first woman in a long time that I could talk to and it was like I knew her for years. The topic about grass growing and talk and laugh for hours. I'll miss that, but I can't be friends with her as I feel I'll just be filling in where her ex falls short. Oh well, guess I just needed to put that out there to bring up the fact that I've been feeling like a bit of a loser this last week. I was an artist (still am i guess) early on and have mediocre credit, no nest egg or anything of great value to show for it. I have a good job now, great friends and family, but still that feeling persists. Anybody out there identify with any of this or have any words?

Well, it's been a long time since being active here at SG. Quite frankly when I was, I really didn't have much interaction to the many great folks here. I simply read blogs, looked around and took everything in. Well with this new start, I hope to get to know at least some of you.
Happy Monkey Tuesday!
Happy Monkey Tuesday!
Well, it's one of those Mondays where i'm doing everything except for what I should be....
I guess I will get started after my meeting instead of before...
maybe I will start working tomorrow...
working from home has lots of distractions... like SG
