It has been a traveling year for this one. Twice to the tropics and in 19 days I will fly to Japan for 2 whole weeks. It only took 8+ months of saving my ass off. And by 8 months, I really mean almost a year and a half. Will be going to Osaka, Kyoto, and even Tokyo for a bit. A college friend moved there after school and is now getting married. We're gonna have some crazy shennanigans!
I just got back from the Bahamas! It was an amazing tropical adventure that featured dolphins and sunsets and many fruity alcoholic drinks with those little umbrellas in them. First time cruising too, it was fantastic and I highly recommend Carnival if you're ever thinking of taking a cruise and haven't been ever. We were on the Fascination and were spoiled and fed and had access to booze at all hours of the day. I have never felt so relaxed and excited. And I kissed a dolphin! I feel super lucky to have had this entire tropical vacation experience. The blue green water was so beautiful i wanted to cry with joy.
I gained like 4 pounds from all the food and booze (every dinner was so rich, and all the other meals we went to were buffet style) but it was worth it. Jillian Michaels will tone me back up. But if you go with Carnival I have 3 words for you; Molten Chocolate Cake

Haven't posted here in a million years >_< I'm gonna try to be more active here instead of just lurking all the time.

I like categories. Let's categorize.
Good Stuff:
- got a dishwasher!!! I seriously love it as much as my motorcycle. Couldn't live without either.
- Husband was laid off but then found a job where he's happier than his previous job and only had to take a temporary pay cut
- it was a very DIY xmas this year and I learned to sew all sorts of new stuff and crochet scarves
- celebrated first wedding anniversary at Great Wolf Lodge
- I got a Russian tortoise, his name is Mortis
- went to 6 weddings in 2009. I went to 1 wedding per weekend for most of Oct and the beginning of Nov. Even went to a wedding on my wedding anniversary
- FINALLY got to go to Atlantic City and experienced the joy and wonder that is a lap dance. Yey boobs!
- turned 30 and have been celebrating all month long because plans keep getting changed due to snow
- going on my first cruise in a week, I can't wait! Warm weather and snorkeling and tropical birds!!!!
Bad Stuff
- a friend of mine killed himself last week. I'm dealing with it by pretending it didn't happen, otherwise I have no idea what to do.
- 3 year mark is coming up for losing Matthew, which I still am unable to deal with and hence can't handle the friend's suicide on top
Thankfully the good stuff list is much longer, although the bad weighs heavy. Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer
On a happier note; the house looks great, I'm working out and can sort of start to see results (or at least feel them), my sister got a really good job and moved closer to ikea so everytime i visit her we get into Swedish Furniture Shenanigans.
Last night I stayed up late with Exaran talking about dreams. I was trying to figure out if he has the same kind of falling dreams that I do. Anytime I fall in a dream, 9 times out of 10 I hit the ground and THEN wake up. He wakes up before impact. I always remember hearing when I was a kid that if you hit the ground in your dream, you die in real life. That sounds so Nightmare on Elm Street, doesn't it?
We talked about all sorts of bizarre dreams before going to sleep, which then affected my dreams. I dreamed I was in my childhood bedroom and there were a bunch of frat boys on the roof and I was yelling at them to take their stupid noisy party somewhere else and they kept trying to get into the house to kick my ass while I was searching for a giant hammer. Dream logic! So bizarre.
But I guess it makes more sense than the dream I had a few days ago where I was a pirate/mercenary with elaborate tiger facepaint (Thundercats?) who had to take over a ship using only a skim board with a skull and crossbones on it.

SNOW!! I can't believe we finally got some real winter weather. Exaren and I both got told not to come into work so we had a snow day the likes of which we hadn't seen since childhood! Slept in late, dug out the cars, went inside for internet shennanigans and Soul Caliber IV (during which is started snowing like crazy again). We went to the neighbors and made a bunch of snowmen (and 1 snowtran)

I made this one last night in the front yard, by this morning it was covered over in new snow again

I can't believe how snowy everything got, I thought I was gonna go blind looking at all the whiteness
It's so nice to be in the house all cozy now. We're going to make an attempt to get a can of spaghetti sauce and some noodles at Kroger so I can make some awesome homemade sauce for dinner. The perfect hot meal on a cold day. The cars are still dug out, but I wonder how decimated the food supply will be there. People go a little bit crazy when it's just sleet here. Now we've had a full on snow storm and I'm not sure what will be left. Most of my family is from the north, so a bit of snow isn't that big of a deal. The further south you go, the more exciting and terrifying it can be
I still love it, I'm still thrilled, I feel 8 years old all over again!

I got a dress form for christmas and made this dress today!

It was originally a men's XXL t shirt I got for $2 at the thrift store. But now it's a badass dress that maybe I will wear tonight to Fallout if my head gets unstuffed sometime today. Hurrey for clothes makery!
