So i went out and bought a sweet ass denim jacket last night. There's something that makes one feel kind of old when you remember denim jackets being cool, then lame and now i guess they're cool again.
I then met up with my friends at a local bar and when i walked in my friends said: "What's up Mr. 80s?" Also, there was this girl standing near me with Joan Jett hair and kind of an 80's look too.
Pointing to her, my friend Dave says to me: "Dan, if this was a Pat Benetar video, you and that girl would walk out of the bar with each other at the end of the night...after some choreographed dancing that is." Haha...but alas i wasn't really attracted to her except when the beer goggles kicked in. Funny how that happens.
I'm making some grilled portabello mushroom today with this recipe here. I hope substituting olive oil for canola oil will still turn out ok. I'm really looking forward to this...my most adventuresome meal to date. I wonder what veggies would go well with that? I'm thinking steamed carrots, colliflower, and broccoli.
UPDATE--the best part of the dinner was the steamed veggies. If i make that recipe again, i should use less vinegar...particularly in light of the fact that i don't like vinegar. Also, i have a lunch date with Carrie tomorrow. Mad Mex...i figure i'll have the veggie toquitos as those things are AWESOME! Wish me luck.
Well i'm out like a fat kid in dodgeball. Peace
