I'm still alive just in case you were wondering.

I've been working some 10 hour days at work and trying to stay on top of school work.

I'm still working on the weight loss thing. I've been pretty off track but I woke up today and was at a new lower weight! I'm still hoping to lose 6 lbs by the end of the month.

But I love food.

Jays been cooking a lot more and it's been really helpful since things have been a bit overwhelming for me.

A few days ago we did a lot of weed pulling in the vegetable garden. We filled the entire green bin.
I wish I had taken a before and after picture. There is still more to go but we really kicked ass and it was a good workout. I've been sore ever since.

Maybe soon i'll take some pictures of the property we live on. Its nice. It has a lot of potential to be really beautiful but the yard needs a bit more work. There is the vegetable garden that our neighbor Deb mostly runs and then theres a rose garden and some different cute areas to sit in. I'm not out there nearly enough... I JUST realized that we have a rosemary bush and mint plants and we've been here close to 2 years.

We have a busy weekend coming up. It will also be full of weightloss/ food challenges for me.
Friday we will be going up to the lake to see Jays cousin graduate highschool. We will be having dinner with his parents too... I think the plan in chinese food.

Then on Saturday, Jays work partner, Tony will be coming down to visit and I'm sure we will be eating out and tempted to get Sift cupcakes.

Then Sunday it's fathers day and we will be eating out with Jays parents again.

Monday is also my day off and hopefully I will eat at home and healthy.

And then Wednesday is Jays birthday and most likely we will be eating out with his parents again.

So maybe (although unlikely) I will try and exercise and make the best choices I can while eating out.

I'll be happy if I can at least maintain but that'd be very counterproductive to losing 6 lbs by July.

Anyhow.. I'm poor lately. I've been spending a little time naked on the internet trying to make some money. I figure if I want to be debt free by September then I need to make about 3-400 a month on MGF. And then also pay 3-400 from my 'normal' job to the credit card companies. I can do it... but it will take effort and time. And basically... I need to get debt free by September so I can live off my credit cards for that month. My two week unpaid vacation is really going to be hard on me financially.

Anyhow... guh thats a boring blog. I guess I've been a bit stressed and just needed it to get typed out of me.

Lets end on a good note :

Weight loss... It is so hard when food is my biggest vice! I need a little but overall I just need to get back into shape. We do have a gym in our apartment complex we just moved into and I plan to make use of it. Now I just need someone to keep me in check and to watch what I eat.

I have been on a pseudo low-carb diet (mainly avoiding bread, pasta, rice, potatoes) - and its worked really well for me. Sadly I have always been a carb junkie, so it was difficult in the beginning - but once my body adjusted its been easy to stick with it.

I used to count calories and worked out in the gym, but that did almost nothing for me. With this diet I've lost over 80 lbs - so I think the key is to find a diet that works for you and stick with it - all of us are different. Although if Jay is a really good cook - dieting might be difficult.

Thanks for your comments. I am happy with my weight loss so far - going from obese to just now overweight - still have 25 lbs to lose though.

I understand the carb thing. I would go eat Indian food and eat mostly naan, I never thought I could live without pasta, rice, breads, etc. The trick is going to be how to I re-intergrate those back into my life.

I think a diet is a very personal thing. I have tried so many diets that worked for others and had no affect on me. I would never assume my diet would work on anyone else. Sounds like your diet is working for you - 20lbs - great work. smile

That school and work schedule sounds nuts. Good luck with the eating healthier. It's so much easier to eat better when you stay home than when you go out. I'm sure you can do it though smile
