My band played our first show last night...this morning...? 12:30 in the am, whatever. I have never been on stage before, not legitimatly that is. I think it took us like 8 hours to get to Santa Cruz. And now I hate being in the passanger seat as much as I hate driving.
We played outside in the ampatheatre on the college campus. That place was bad ass, it had a forrest and cliffs surrounding it. There were about 40 drunk people watching us. We only have 6 songs so far so it was a quick show, when we ended the last song the drunks wanted more and they would not let us leave even though we told them we didn't have anythingelse to play. One of them yelled out "play them again!" so we did the two newest ones we have and our ender song.
I didn't expect anyone to be there considering we have never played a show before and we were the only band performing, but it turned out to be pretty good. We decided to come back to L.A. at around 2:30 this morning. I took some cold medicine [which was really weird and tasted like pepermint for some reason] and passed out in the back seat. I felt like total shit and all I wanted to do was sleep. Now I am pissed that I didn't try harder to find some of that fine northern California marijuana...
I hope hometown shows are half as good as this one was.

Hung-over, and over, and over.
There was a reason I cut back on drinking, it was because it isn't good for me to be doing it everyday. The problem with drinking everyday for about 4 years and then cutting waaaaay back to about once a month, for me, is that I still think I can drink like I did before. I used to be able to mix what-ever-the-fuck I wanted togethter and still have a fine night and morning after. Now, I really can't drink anything other than beer and wine. I had two white russians, very strong, and then like 4 beers an I have been fucked all day. I tried to drive to work and...well lets just say I just cleaned my goddamn car and now I have to do it again.

When I was in health class, I one time asked my teacher why sometimes you wake up wayyy too early after a night of drinking. He said it was because the "detox" or "come down" [or however you want to put it] of drugs is usually the opposite of the effect of the drug. I understand it, but I still think its stupid. I drank till 3 and went to bed at 4:30 how is it possible that I wake up at 8:00? Fuck that!

Hermosa Beach is the most boring place on the fucking planet. My friend and I went to open mic night at a coffee shop, that was okay. But not okay enough, so we left. I have no one to drink with anymore. I basically lost all of my friends when I started going out with my now ex girlfriend, so all her friends became my friends. Now that we are broken up, I only have a couple that I actually consider my friends and none of them are old enough to come to bars yet. I have like 3 friends that are over 21 and the rest are all like fucking 20 and 19. My friends that are old enough to come out and party can't anymore. One is in hawaii in the coast guards, one is at USC, and one lost his mind somewhere and never leaves his house. This is bull shit. I hate this place.
