Marvel is so in love with her Hecklepants

I got a new job smile I was hired at a bank to work as a teller. The best part? The bank is in biking distance from home! Or, if I decide to drive, I can come home on my lunch break to walk Barkley. Awesomesauce. The bank is brand-spanking new, and it opens on Monday. I have less than a week to learn how to be a teller.

The boss took the staff out for lunch today at a local eatery... it was amazing food! The company is sponsoring an adventure day this Friday, so we're going kayaking! I *think* I should be able to manage it... kayaking is, thankfully, zero impact, so my hips should be okay. I'm a little worried about my chronically dislocating shoulders, but I wouldn't pass up a kayaking trip for something as trivial as a little shoulder dislocation.

I took some pictures today, because some anon asked for some on Tumblr tongue

Sad News

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

It's kind of a long story, but we had a cat come into our care through the rescue. She really wasn't doing well, and we knew she would need injections every day for the rest of her life. Heckler & I have both done injections before, so we agreed to take her on. We had her from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon... we took her to see the vet on Sunday, and we decided to euthanize. Her kidney failure had gone to stage three, and she would have needed hospitalization. Even with "heroic measures," the vet said that we would be buying her weeks, at best. Poor Lulu had dental issues and arthritis on top of her kidney problems... and she was clearly in pain constantly. She would hiss and growl at Heckler & I whenever we pet her, even though she was climbing into our laps for cuddles. Poor thing.

Rest in Peace, sweet lil Lulu

Congrats on your teller position. You will have a great opportunity at that bank. Don't take the kayaking too lightly. It is straineous work more sonifbthevesterbir rushing fast. Just be careful. And sorry about your new cat. We had one forvsbout7!years and she never grew physically because she was the runtbon the litter and she lost her mother when was still suckling. We found her as a stray at my mother in laws back yard and took her with us to st Louis to care fit. She had bad kidney because her kidney developed probably as a kitten. We had tonoutbhervdow in 1999. She was probably bedtbcatbweveveverbhsd.

So your hip(s) must be doing somewhat better?

Kayaking might or might not be appropriate. I don't know whether you'll be sitting or kneeling or whether either is potentially a problem. I guess you'll figure it out.

Bowie is in the funeral industry these days. (Although you probably wouldn't know it from SG because she posts here so rarely.)

Its awesome news about the new job, hope it continues to be really awesome for you smile

As the guys above me said, try not to strain yourself with kayaking, you will be sitting down but you still use the muscles in your legs when you row, might actually be good for rebuilding your muscles if you take it slowly. smile

((Hugs)) and so happy your doing really well now. smile

Cutie! Your new job sounds great. Nothing like being able to walk or bike to work for adding to one's quality of life. Congratulations, Marvel.

How are you feeling? Is the pain getting better and the healing coming along as you expected?

Sad to hear about the kitty.

Poor Lulufrown

Everything else is such fantastic news, though. Congrats on the new job. Kayaking? I've never been, but it sure looks like fun. I'll keep some fingers crossed that your shoulders do as they're toldwink
