Happy New Year!! Just finished watching fireworks from our living room Saratoga First Night...they were pretty amazing Toasted with my man over sparkling apple juice Now hopefully off to bed for some New Year SEX!!

Our bedroom is our sanctuary... No matter what fight we have had we seem to always come back together there. Last night was horrible until we went to bed..we talked..I blame myself..he blames himself and we both blame the pregnancy hormones and the weather. I have always gotten the "Winter Blues" but this year they seem to have hit really early and show no signs of leaving Ughhh...I need some sun..I need some vitamin D...so badly!! That is why I am actually looking forward to his sea tour...at this point we are looking at somewhere in the Pacific...We shall see.
I'm cheering myself up tonight by going out with the Hubby to a NYE party...I can't drink but I can get him tipsy and take advantage of him when we get home

Oh boy! What a trip..vacation and now home to a flooded and stinky apartment!! Well vacation was excellent...We visited with my brother and his girlfriend in South Carolina. Ben used to be stationed there so there was no stress over how to get around while we were down there. Disney World was really nice...Hunter had such a great time and it was so good to see Ben's family again and meet some new family members. We ended up staying an extra day because Ben got the stomach bug and couldn't travel for 24hrs. We arrived home just after midnight on Christmas Eve morning to a flooded and still flooding apartment..broken fitting on the water heater...so the water just kept coming in. The apartment SMELLS horrible!! They are replacing all the carpeting on Monday which is a plus...another plus is that none of our stuff was damaged. All the Christmas presents were still in the closet and we had cleaned the entire apartment before we left so there were no toys or video games on the floor in the living room. It could have been much worse. The landlord is taking care of everything expense wise and we didn't even have to use our renters insurance! If you don't have renters insurance I recommend paying the $80/year and protecting your stuff!!
Christmas itself was hard this year..Hunter was at his Dad's all weekend while I worked. There were a lot of tears on my end. This is the first year that I haven't at least had him for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. He did have a great time and Santa brought him a lot of toys at his Dad's. We celebrated our Christmas on Monday.. Hunter got so many presents from Ben's family he actually got tired of opening presents and needed a break Tuesday night we celebrated with my family over a nice pasta dinner and Hunter opened even more presents.

I was totally spoiled this Christmas..Ben got me a diamond necklace which is beautiful! When I said I don't have anything to wear it with he said diamonds are like jeans they go with everything. He also assured me that it is insured so I don't have to worry about losing it. Did I mention that the jewelry was just a stocking stuffer..I also got a ton of stuff that I asked for ...rice cooker, new slow cooker and slow cooker recipe book. Tons of lotions and body butters for my growing belly..hoping to avoid as many stretch marks as I can. Ben also bought me some new bras with matching thongs...he did a really good job they are very pretty

Well I hope to get pictures up sometime soon from our vacation and Christmas...I hope everyone had a terrific holiday!!

We made it to South Carolina safely We have been spending time with my brother and his girlfriend. Tonight we are going to see the Festival of Lights on James Island tonight. Then off to sleep for a few hours before we are on the road again heading for Florida.
Hunter was sick last night burning up with fever he is feeling better today but is still sleepy... He is napping right now which he never does unless he is really sick! I hope he feels better soon... I want him to enjoy Disney. I'm a worrier and I worry he has pneumonia again... He hasn't had it in a while but every time he gets a cough I brace myself for the doctor visits and antibiotic injections which bring the tears. He is a tough kid so when I see him so weak and sick it is really hard!

Finally on the way to South Carolina.... 17 hrs with a 4 year old in the car... Thank God for Dvd players

Sitting on the couch...I should totally be packing for Florida!! Spent most of last night wrapping presents and wondering why we bought so much...of course now that it is almost finished it doesn't look like that much....
I ended up buying Ben a wine aerator set which comes with a stand so that you can poor hands free...he is big into wine...I think he will love it. I also got him a set of Bose headphones...he mentioned a couple months ago that he wanted a pair for running that won't fall out of his ears. A wallet which he really needs and a new watch for work..boring stuff but he needs it. I also got him a new winter coat...I had to give him that one early because he was in Hawaii for the last three winters and didn't own one anymore.
Hunter of course got spoiled rotten...I mean he got stuff from us and all of Ben's family. He is going to be so excited. I can't wait to see his face. Last year he was 3 1/2 and Christmas was so fun for both of us. Of course this year he is with his Dad the entire weekend so we won't get our Christmas until Monday...but I'm not going to let that ruin our fun.
We leave for South Carolina tomorrow to visit my brother for a few days and then on to Florida for Disney World...this will be the first time for Hunter and I. I'm really excited! I won't really be able to enjoy the rides but I can't wait to see how much Hunter enjoys himself.
Well I better get back to work...packing that is!

We have been busy decorating and doing Christmas related activities this week. Unfortunately there seems to be something wrong with the site or my computer because I can't upload any of my new pictures
Other news is that I cut my hair...not sure how I feel about it.

I am back among the living...three night shifts in a row are really killing me and I am only 5 months pregnant. It is hard for me to believe that I worked until 41 weeks last time. Sorry for not getting back to people...I am in zombie mode on Mondays.
So yesterday...Hubby woke me up really early and we went to get the Christmas decorations from storage which was a pain because of course they were all the way in the back buried. Then we picked Hunter up from school and let him pick out our Christmas tree.."I want a tall and fat one" Of course when you are 4 everything is tall so he had a little help Then we brought it home and got it in the house and.....wait for it... the trunk is too skinny for the tree stand. So we left it inside to thaw out and we will finish it today after getting a better stand. I have to say it is such a relief not to have to struggle to put up the tree by myself this year.... I was single and my place had vaulted ceilings so I went for an 8' tree...not remembering that I would have to get it vertical in the stand on my own...after it fell a few times I secured it to the beam just for safety...it looked really classy!!
So my friend Janine came over and made chocolate chip cookies with me last night...not sure how good of company I was...but she works nights too and hadn't slept all day...that just equaled everything being really hilarious. It was great to have some girl time. Of course Ben and Hunter were here too but they were watching football.
Today is going to be all about getting things decorated for Christmas and finish up unpacking our boxes.

It was in fact hand sawing in the apartment above me last night...an to my annoyance it resumed bright and early this morning. NO there were not any dead bodies or police tape involved .. it had to do with a clogged drain and cutting through a wall and all that stuff...so either the guy who works for maintenance department was lying and he was hiding the woman upstairs body in the wall or it was in fact a plumbing problem


On to other things such as Christmas shopping frustration...What to get the Hubby?? He likes Legos, Star Trek and Apple products..any ideas?

I have a problem...It is a very overactive imagination. I have always had it...Now as an adult it has taken a turn to the dark side. Example...There has been some very loud hand sawing going on in the apartment above mine all day today. A normal person may write this off as construction...I however :
1. It is going on in the bathroom...why would they be sawing in the bathroom?
2. Construction...handsaw?
3. It is now 7:30 pm... if it was construction they would have gone home by now.

My conclusion: They murdered someone and they are dismembering the body in the bathroom!

Of course I am home alone with my son...and I am a little freaked out...my husband thinks I need to stop watching Criminal Minds!
