The Mountain Goats last night. I wrote briefly about the show and put up some excellent live tracks from throughout the years on The Fabulist. I'd love it if you checked the songs out, you don't even have to read the post. Also, there's a week left to enter the Fabulist contestRIGHT HERE where you can win limited editon vinyl, art prints, and vinyl toys.

My friend had called me while I was in the show and left me a voicemail inviting me to a party. While I would normally decline, I was in post-Mountain Goats afterglow and thought "sure, why not?" It ended up being the most hipstery party I have ever been to. I had never seen so much vintage clothing and hilarious facial hair in one place before. There were some nice folks, but more than a few insufferable, vapid, "industry" chicks. Soul sucking. I left around 130am.

I feel and (I think) look thinner, which is making me happy, no matter how much I want a patty melt and a cup of coffee. I will conquer thee, lack of self-control!

I saw a guy on the strip yesterday that was the most hipstery dude I've ever seen, the hair, the hat, the sunglasses, the facial hair AND the sideburns, and the entire wardrobe. It was insane, there was like an aura of irony surrounding him. He must have been on his way to your party.
-I'm looking forward to my July as well. I hope you can maybe make it to that one thing.

Oh God, every party is a Nathan Barley-esque hipster party in this town. Rosscoe and I occasionally make plans to bring back proper parties. But there's just no changing those kids.

I listened to The Mountain Goats after one of your fabulist posts and was instantly hooked.

look closer, they might just be playing a more dangerous game.

-it's supposed to be slightly ambiguous or mysterious, but I figure it's either a dangerous game or the prelude to some kind of monster bank-heist...and a sandwhich. There are certainly no cards or chips, though..
