What started as a wonderful weekend ended with a sudden halt.
This morning my new IG, Fender, got attacked by a unleashed dog while having his morning potty break. He took a pretty bad bite to the thorax, but the vet got him in VERY quickly and started him on antibiotics and pain meds. The scary part is that I'm not sure if the dog that bit him is up to date on his vaccines. When I went back outside to find the lady whose dog bit Fender, she was gone. I know she lives in one of the nearby apartments, so I will find out rabies info ASAP, but I'm so nervous in the meantime. I'm also going to ask her to pay my vet bills and keep her damn rabid dog leashed.
What makes me so angry about the whole thing is the fact that Fender is already so scared of people and dogs from his previous abuse and hopping from home to home. I had just finished socializing him at a dog park and working with him to trust men, and this happened. At the vet, they had to muzzle him because he was trying to bite everyone, he was shaking and thrashing, and lost control of his bowels and bladder. He's now completely reverted to being frightened of everyone but me. Plus he has to deal with the painful wound. I'm so angry and sad. I've been sick to my stomach all day and can't concentrate on my work. I just want to go home and be with him.

I GOT THE DOG!!!! The lady called me a few hours ago to tell me she picked me to be the little italian greyhound's owner. YAYYYYY! Pics will soon follow, I promise. He's so cute. Sir Fender Finnegan. Tomorrow I have to go during my lunch break and get food and bowls, and a crate. I don't want to keep him in a crate all the time, but I want it in the beginning so he can have a "safe place" away from my cats and such. Anyway, he will be delivered to me tomorrow evening at 6pm. Yay!

I went to visit the IG dog i want to adopt and fell in love with him yesterday. The lady has 10 other people that have applications in for him, and she was supposed to call me tonight with her decision. No call. So i am so nervous and can't sleep. She sais she would call either way, so I guess she just hasn't sorted it out yet. UGHHHH. wish me luck.
Stephen ended up coming here this weekend, so I've had my man. It's been nice. No big plans, just spent time together. Watched movies and layed in bed and talked. So sweet. I miss him a lot already, and he doesn't even leave till tomorrow night. *sigh* Hopefully I'll have my doggie to keep me company. <3

you guys, please be hoping and praying the lady approves my application to adopt this little bugger. i've fallen in e-love with him and really want him ASAP! If I'm approved, I will be naming him Sir Fender Finnegan. My last name is Rhodes, so his official title will be: Sir Fender Finnegan of the House of Rhodes. Most likely, he'll be called "Finny" for short. This will be my first dog (as an adult on my own), so wish me luck!
He's a 1 1/2 year old italian greyhound who was saved by a vet when his owner had some severe health issues and wanted him put down because she couldn't care for him anymore. Some people just make me cringe. But anyhow, the little guy will have a happy home with me if this woman gives me the OK. I'll keep you all posted on his adoption!
In other news.... Stephen is coming to visit ME now for the holiday weekend so I can save money to pay the outrageous adoption fee for this dog. The $100 in gas it takes to get to Atlanta will be much needed for doggie leashes and bowls and food.
EDIT:UPDATE: so my FANTASTIC boyfriend has just called to tell me that money is tight and he isn't coming to see me. Fuck that. Fuck his decision making process. I really hope he doesn't fuck this relationship up, because it's the best one i've ever had. I mean, who the hell doesn't have enough money to visit their girlfriend ONCE A FUCKING MONTH. you sell something. you borrow from someone. you make it work. but you don't NOT go. god i just want to punch a wall. i'm taking a xanax and going to sleep in hopes i'll wake up to the dog ladies email saying i can come take finny home. i really need a companion this weekend. *sigh*

i like my eye makeup today.
the boyfriend and i got in our first real argument in 8 months. i confessed to him that i feel a little underappreciated and need a little more physical proof that he isn't taking me for granted (a card in the mail, an e-greeting, a CD he made for me, etc.). having a long distance relationship is tough, and i feel that i do my part of sending him cards and stuff on his wishlist and providing for his kids. i don't ask for expensive gifts. it costs 37 cents to mail a letter. blah. his response was "i don't think i'm a bad boyfriend".
i was just made aware that monday is labor day and i don't have to work. which means i can stay an extra day in atlanta with stephen. i think we'll go see "snakes on a plane" and have the kids over one of the days. and a lot of snuggling and sex. "scary movie 4" is coming to me from netflix so maybe we'll watch that, too. who knows. either way - i'm happy to be with him even if we are in the middle of a disagreement.
back to work. guess i better earn my living and appraise something. till next time~

i'm missing my stephen a lot. i was so sick last time i visited that sex was lackluster and sparse. not to mention i bet i looked like a zombie (thank god that boy loves me). but hey, zombie sex might be his fantasy - who knows. anyhow, i'll see him this weekend and i plan on attacking him many times over. i'm looking for another female for him to play with in the atlanta area - he just came out of a 7 year marriage and hasn't really had a lot of adventurous fun, and i want him to have his fill of sexual experiences before we eventually settle down together. so send a hot GA peach my way if you know of one down with that sort of thing.

soooooooo...... this past weekend was an adventure. it's taken me a long while to collect myself, so i haven't had time to blog anything.
i drove to atlanta friday afternoon to remodel the kids' room with stephen this weekend even though i was starting to get sick. the 6 hour trip floored me and i was sick in bed by friday night at 2am after an evening of painting. i won't go into the details of the painting escapade, but after a midnight trip to walmart for ANOTHER gallon of $20 paint, it was quite the irritating night.
so saturday i woke up feeling like i had been run over by a truck. i was snotty and sniffly and hacking and my head was pounding. i sucked it up and went to IKEA and a few other stores with Stephen and the boys to get beds and furniture and other random items. we ate ice cream and had a real "family" day. it was lovely, even though i was in a foggy haze of medicine and snot. we finished painting that night and got one of the beds built.
sunday i woke up feeling a little better. we finished the room and the boys got to see it mostly done. they both came up to me and thanked me for painting their room (i'm sure it was stephen's doing....but still...), and it melted my heart. it was worth all the pain for them to have their airplane room.
monday morning i was supposed to drive back, but i was just too weak to make the trip, so stephen stayed home from work and took care of me. we played video games and took naps and watched movies and played sudoku. i drove home tuesday afternoon and i've been catching up at work the past 2 days trying frantically to keep my due dates current.
oh, in other news.... i was rejected for my heath insurance because of high blood pressure. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE???? i'm 25 damn years old. jesus. so i'm trying to sweet talk my way in. i REALLY need good medical insurance with my family medical history. i'm probly gonna keel over in a few years so i need to be prepared.
