First things first- this is the first "diet" I've been on and I'm doing it for two reasons: supplementing my gym activity (adding definition) and as a personal challenge.
Ok, so today's the first day of my 2-3 week ultra-low carb diet. An idea I've seen my buddy Josh successfully turn into some great definition. A friend of mine just started this diet, so in an act of solidarity, I decided to tag along.
The rules? Less then 30g of net carbs (so carbs that aren't in the form of fiber).
Here's what I ate today (wow I can't believe you're still reading this):
6 Protein shakes
1 huge ass can of tuna
1/2 a bag of spinach
3 fat-free cheese slices
1 thumb-sized piece of trail-mix-granola-thingy
1 scoop of peanut butter
250 ml of egg whites
1 rice-cake
1 shit-ton of water
That's:
33 grams of carbs (I shouldn't have eaten the rice cake I had left from yesterday- I'd have hit 30g if I skipped it).
19 grams of fat
1338 calories
266 grams of protein
Wow! That's fucking sweet! Sure I'm hungry, but after 2-3 weeks I'll be cut. I'm eating like two pieces of bread worth of carbs a day.
Of course, today's the first (read: easiest) day.
Don't let me fall off the wagon guys and girls- next week is carb-loading time

So I'm fucked. Here's the brief background: I'm a university student living in Calgary, Alberta for the summer and working to pay for school. I go to school and live in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Now here's what's got me fuming mad:
As of 10 minutes ago I've discovered I owe Rogers $184 for May 1st to June 1st for my cell phone bill while here in Calgary. Apparently I pay long distance for every minute of incoming AND outgoing calls. That's right, they've been billing me long distance rates for every second I talk on the phone, regardless of who called or for what. Oh, and I wasn't informed until I got the bill for LAST month, meaning I'm looking at about that god-damn bill all over again. I'm calling Rogers tomorrow at work, but holy crap am I fuming mad. If I pay this damn bill I'm contacting every single media outlet from here to Fredericton. And I will push the story HARD. If it means getting it in every student news paper then so be it, I'll hit Roger's bottom line if they don't have some give here. I'll take some of the blame, of course, but pleading ignorance must be worth something... right?

I'm not using this god-damned phone again. I'm sure this info was burried in my contract, but finding out ~$400 later is a big f-ing kick in my poor ass nuts.
