i have the day off work today & tonight is the Carte Blanche tour in Detroit! only a $10 show with the best in Detroit hip-hop: Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson, Slum Village, DJ Design, DJ Dez, DJ Sicari & Illa J (the legendary J.Dilla's little bro if you didn't know)!!! before that awesomeness, i'll be spinning a few recs at Vertigo music in downtown GR. should be a blast!!
on the flipside, i realized that my supposed left ankle injury is not an ankle injury at all. the ankle's fine. it's my foot, maybe my plantar. maybe i'm being facetious, but i hope i don't have plantar fasciitis (the injury that hobbled sheed wallace a couple playoffs ago). we'll see. it's to the pont now that my right ankle has starting turning black & blue from overcompensating for the left one. i'm going to get it looked at on friday. ohhhh how i hate going to see the doctor. i haven't been to any kind of medical facility since '98 when i almost died from appendicitis. i'm not looking forward to it at all, but limping around has gotten really stale. needless to say, i'll be sitting for most of the show tonight, but my ears still work just fine!

i've been having a lot of humbling moments lately, so rather than keep updating that every day, i decided to give a brief synopsis:
today - realizing i don't have the knowhow, patience, or steady hand to successfully install a car stereo
last night - realizing that my social ineptitude & anxiety prevents me from meeting any chicks on my own & i just may be forced to bite the bullet & start paying more attention to some of my co-workers that have seemed to be extra friendly towards me, even though i'm strongly opposed to mixing my job & my personal life
yesterday - having to clean up adrian the cat's puke when i was running late for work
monday - getting scraped, bruised & spraining my ankle while twice attempting to do a stupid ghost ride trick on my mountain bike in front of a couple friends
sunday - burning off a patch of my armhair grilling up some burgers outside
saturday - showing up late to a bbq with a case of beer & a dimebag where nobody else really wanted to party
5/7 - dropping my wallet in a urinal, having to fish it out & decide which cards didn't have too much piss on them to not throw away
5/6 - burning part of my mustache hair while lighting up a joint at the el-p show in detroit
4/5-5/5 - having my car in the shop & being forced to bum rides, bike, bus & walk to do anything, not to mention having $50 a month added to my car payments until next july, when the car itself probably isn't even worth the $340 i'll be stuck paying monthly til then!

geez, good soprano's episode, shocking! my weekend simultaneously failed & exceeded to meet my expectations. why does anybody have expectations anyway? if they're kept low, there's no anticipation, but if they're too high, there's inevitable disappointment. anywho, i'm tired of looking at my old post.......
weekend update: friday i spun at a going away party where i only knew like 3 people there. too weird, but the complimentary oberon keg made it tolerable. saturday i finally (FINALLY) got my car back!! now i can be pissed off about gas prices! yeahhh!!! then i went to watch the lameweather fight, but the most interesting fight was between some young bucks at the place. this dude got suckerpunched with his hands behind his back. the party cleared out & bloody caved-in face was just sitting there watching the fight like nothing happened! surreal. sunday was spent around detroit waiting for the 'i'll sleep when you're dead' tour to start. el-p rocked it with a bloodied up face & an orange prison jumpsuit! mr. dibbs looked like he might have actually bloodied up his dome. he kept checking on it to see if it was bleeding during the set. idunno if they were on some wwf shit with arby's sauce on their faces or what. i thought el was gonna have a whole band there, but it was dibbs, a keyboard player & a hype man. i was sparking up something during the set & accidentally lit part of my upper lip fuzz! burnt hair right under my nose isn't too cool. maybe i'll get nominated for stupidist concert blooper. tame one wasn't there, a major disappointment. it was a kickass show anyway. i snapped this picture in downtown g.r. on commerce, coolest stencil i've seen yet, maybe it's a stencil, idunno.
sunday sunday sunday! me & the cloud cluster crew are rolling to the D to see El-P, Slow Suicide Stimulus, Yak Ballz & Hangar 18 at the Magic Stick. everybody on the bill is the shit, but i'm most looking forward to seeing one of my heroes, Tame One, perform with S.S.S. i can drink my intestines inside out for once since i'm not the one driving! yeahhhhhh!
