Dear SG:
I don't usually date, because when I do I'm usually disappointed. I found someone I really enjoy spending time with, I really click with, and I would LOVE to spend MORE time with.. *but*...
(Someone once told me nothing really counts before the word 'but'...)
After a few dates, things were going well... Great even! I'm a very prude person.. I don't mind being naked, unless I'm in a relationship with you.. lol At first, anyway! So yeah. 1 week of texting, calling, grabbin' a drink, eatin' a bite, snugglin' and watchin' movies.. perfect!
And then it happened.
He said he was coming over... be there in an hour! "okay!" I say. "I'm waiting!" ....and never showed up.
So the next day, same kinda deal... "sorry about yesterday, I want to hang out though. I'll be over after a while." ...and then I at least get a call of apology. "So tired..! I didn't get much sleep last night, super tired, I can't make it... I know you're going to hate me.. I'm so sorry! I'll make it up to you. I *WILL* call you tomorrow, and I *WILL* buy you sushi!"
Tomorrow comes... we text, we talk, "I'll be there. Gimme an hour!"
...and he never showed. I believe that was Thursday? Yeah... Last week. He finally got on FB and responded to a message I'd sent asking about the order for shoes and a purse (he does really great work... custom painted shoes... bad ass! that's how I ended up talking to him..) since I had assumed he didn't want to talk to me.
What should I do?
So far I've accepted his apology, told him I don't know what to do from here, and I'm probably going to be pissed off for a while. I sat around for hours waiting on him to show up, and he couldn't be bothered to send a text?! That takes 5 seconds! His mom has been having a hard time, but I still don't see how a person would not have the 5 seconds at some point over the course of hours or even days...?
Am I being over-sensitive? Should I be so upset? I feel like he's shown me some real disrespect and disregard, and I want real advice... don't just say what will make me happy. Give me something good.
Should I give him a second chance? Or has he already had three and failed two of the three? Am I being an ego bitch, unreasonable, and self-centered? I understand the problems of others and make allowances for certain things... is this enough of a big deal, or does it matter if it was a big deal, seeing as it took forever to get back to me and he had time to post on FB?
