I haven't really been posting much lately because all the stuff I've really cared about has been, to many people, boring. If you'd rather skip my boring ramble feel free to look at these pretty pictures of me from my last blog.

I've closely followed Canadian politics since I was in junior/high school but I never really knew of what the government was like before 1999. So when I was at a used book sale last week I picked up a copy of "Toward a Just Society" by Pierre Trudeau. I didn't really know much about the man so I started reading up on Wikipedia this evening. According to wiki, he was a rather interesting fellow; 'republican' leanings but yet a socialist yearning that almost had him working for the NDP. I guess it makes sense that he wound up with the centre party!

And then I started reading about Tommy Douglas, the first leader of the NDP. I found it interesting how he fought for universal heath care because he almost lost his leg due to his parents' lack of money.

I've decided to stop bitching and start doing. I've called my favourite local political party and I'm going to start volunteering my time to promote their platform. I'm also going to start working harder on my book. Also exercise. Sometime. Maybe.

I'm disappointed by my country and its failed voting system. If something's broken it needs to be fixed.

Other than work, politics have taken up all of my time lately. I'm pretty concerned with the outcome of this election, given that I think Stephen Harper is a douche bag. In somewhat positive news, however, Jack Layton of the NDP is going to be on Vancouver Island this week so I am making plans to attend his rally!

I'm safely home now but I already miss Hong Kong. What a neat place...



Though I certainly am not going to miss the 14 hour plane flight. Air China sucks ass.

I feel like a bag of smashed up assholes so I'm gonna go to sleep now. I think I posted enough pictures to make this a decent enough blog, which is great because I can't really think right now. I didn't get jetlag but about four people around me on the plane kept sneezing and coughing... yuck.
