I haven't really been posting much lately because all the stuff I've really cared about has been, to many people, boring.
If you'd rather skip my boring ramble feel free to look at these pretty pictures of me from my last blog.

"I drew him [President Eisenhower] with Canadian Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent. Their relationship was frosty at best!"
I've closely followed Canadian politics since I was in junior/high school but I never really knew of what the government was like before 1999. So when I was at a used book sale last week I picked up a copy of "Toward a Just Society" by Pierre Trudeau. I didn't really know much about the man so I started reading up on Wikipedia this evening. According to wiki, he was a rather interesting fellow; 'republican' leanings but yet a socialist yearning that almost had him working for the NDP. I guess it makes sense that he wound up with the centre party!
And then I started reading about Tommy Douglas, the first leader of the NDP. I found it interesting how he fought for universal heath care because he almost lost his leg due to his parents' lack of money.
Here are some helpful mnemonics for Canadian political history, care of The Simpsons:
Quiet Nerds Burp Only Near School
This helps you to remember the four founding provinces of Canada: Quebec, New Brunswick, Ontario, & Nova Scotia.
Clowns Love Haircuts, So Should Lee Marvin's Valle
This helps you remember the last eight governer generals: Adrienne Clarkson, Roméo LeBlanc, Ray Hnatyshyn, Jeanne Sauvé, Edward Schreyer, Jules Léger, Roland Michener, and Georges Vanier.
Because I'm sure you were just dying for a way to remember that stuff.
And since you put up with all of that, I left you a present in the queue:

And have you seen Lemmy_? She'll be kicking the queue's ass soon too!
