I am still building for burning man in my spare time here's what we've got so far.
The white tarp was for fun. It stands about eight feet tall when it's done it will have a upper deck space a cool inverted triangular ladder and $200 worth of l.e.d. lights ect. It is hot as fuck in west western Canada right now but that's ok with me I need to acclimatize anyway

I'm going to actually write my blog that I've been putting off for sometime. The world has been treating me relatively good the last few months. I've been working building some cool things that I'm pretty proud of. When I'm not at work being a carpenter I've been planning and building for fun. Well for Burning Man. Each regional area can apply to build deliver and burn an effigy. Ours is going to be an eighteen foot by fourteen foot giant head with windows for eyes, an entrance through the mouth and a door at the back. A helix style set of stairs/ladder in the center of the building,
a patio upper deck protected with guard rails and of course dinosaurs and robots. The victoria community is working together to make something wonderful. Drive it sixteen hours south, rebuild it in the desert and then BURN IT!!! Although I am not on bookface my project is here.
I built a model of the head out of cedar and door skin. The scale was 6:1 so every foot was represented by two inches. The links have a bunch of pictures of the model but here is one. The eyes will be on hinges and everything must be made of wood.

So I've put myself down for this years Burning man ticket lottery. A friend of mine asked me to go with her and I decided I'd do it.. I don't know exactly what to expect but I like the building / survival aspect of it. Being surrounded by art is the real draw though. The weather's been miserable here lately. The idea of this adventure gives me something positive to think about. I'm going to put together an adventure mixtape. Suggestion?

Well friends summer has turned to fall. It's natural to feel a little tired and dozy so sleep in and have an extra cup of coffee. The weather is just starting to get cold in Victoria; first real frost this morning. I don't mind cold weather really... I think of myself as a long haired outdoor dog. I'd rather be in frosty weather than the humid tropics. Humidity fucks me up. Do not like.
So my Dad is sick but they seemed to have caught the problem early so the prognosis is good. He should be O.K. He has such a great attitude about everything. I like to think I'm a more well balanced person because of him and my Mom. There's a lot of laugher in my family.
One of my best friends has a tattoo on his back and this is what it reads:
One month no smoking. Feels good man. I think I'm eating more... oh well I could use a few pounds. Life is good. Today I cut out for some door hardware in the rain. It was rainy. Now I'm going to take my dog to burger king. Stop in at the casino to run twenty bucks through the slots and then it's off to my third thanksgiving dinner in a row.
It puts the gravy on the turkey or else it gets the sprouts again...
Well it's been two weeks and I haven't had a cigarette. I have to say this has been suprisingly easy for me.
Even though I smoked for twenty years. I don't want to smoke. So I don't. My family will be really happy when they find out I've quit. I kinda just did it out of the blue. I hope the world is treating you o.k.

So yesterday I smoked zero cigarettes. Today I plan to do the same. For my sanity I have been taking Bupropion(Zyban) an anti depressant that also helps with quitting smoking. It uses up the nicotine receptors in the brain lowering craving and bringing the amount of nicotine receptors back down to a normal level. Even non-smokers have nicotine receptors in their brains. It's a matter of changing my routine. I eat a lot of japanese sour candies right now... and I'm playing soccer again this year. Running three times a week. It's time to make some positive changes in my life. I've been smoking for twenty years. That sucks.
I'm not sure why the lemon has a stache??? I guess it makes the lemon more powerful.
Anyone got any tricks to make it through the next few days?
