so, i don't know how many of you people have had the pleasure of driving on I-75 in my area, but there's a church between cincinnati and dayton that has a giant, poorly proportioned statue of jesus in the front, facing the highway. it's pretty much one of my favorite things about living here.

the last couple days have been pretty nice. i got to hang out with my best friend and watch shitty VH1 shows while she worked on her sketches for class. today i've been listening to the pixies and sonic youth while entering sex offender data and practicing sign language. i'm feeling pretty content.

if you'll excuse me, i just bought a Cadillac, and i have to throw some D's on that.

three things that i learned yesterday:

1.) to never wish that it won't rain on the way to/from work, because it will, every time. forever.

2.) i am seriously pretty awful at bowling.

3.) Team America is one of the greatest movies ever made.

i think today i'm going to try to find some yarn and review my old anatomy text. i'm sure you all are envious of my exciting life. i might even rent a movie! EXTREME!

so, i seem to be getting pretty good at attracting boys now. i have no idea what to do or how to act after that. this whole courting thing is totally confusing.

my friend and i had a laughing fit that lasted almost 10 minutes the other day. it was one of those moments where you just realize how absolutely absurd life is. it was a pretty relieving feeling.

okay, now, seriously. what the hell is up with Adult Swim these days? i've only started watching it again for the last couple nights and i stil can't figure out what it is that i'm actually seeing.

i think my mother is trying to kill me with her mind. she has been putting me through non-stop verbal torture since 8:30 AM today, and it doesn't look like it's going to let up any time soon. i guess at least when my boss asks me why i'm so tired tomorrow i can truthfully respond that my mom was leaving threatening messages on my phone all night. maybe i'll get a pity raise!

they're a present from my best friend who just got home from San Francisco for the quarter (yay!). i'm so excited to use them! we've decided to set aside a few hours every week to watch a new disk of the show Carnivàle and work on our fiber projects. i'm looking for projects right now!

i nearly had to change my pants when i opened it. i also got a Flava Flav action figure.

i also got to read a lot, which was super nice. i finished Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk, Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut, Stiff by Mary Roach, and And the Ass Saw the Angel by Nick Cave. i especially enjoyed the latter...he has a wonderful way of describing the world.

here's where i spent my time in North Carolina:



well, not ON the mountain, but within view of it. have you ever seen The Andy Griffith Show? a lot of times they'll talk about going up to Mount Pilot. well, that's a real place, and that's where i was for about a week with my family. it was alright, except as the oldest female grandchild i sort of had to babysit while the actual adult women were cooking and stuff. oh, and we watched a lot of football.

i just got back to the city and i'm a little bummed about it, but it's sort of nice having a little solitude right now. i'll get to everyone's comments soon, but first is naptime!

ever had a night where you were almost positive that you were at least partially possessed to do some of the shit that you did? crazy.

we're leaving for NC on Saturday...i'm looking into motion sickness medication. i get really car-sick if i read while riding, but i have a new stack of books that i'm working on and that 8 hour drive is invaluable. if i can't read, i just might buy something to knock me the fuck out. sitting in the back seat with a 7-year-old is no picnic, and 8 hours is pretty much cruel and unusual.

i just bought the final two installments of the Battle Royale series! yay for gory violence and tit-tays! <3

i'm reading one of the most horrifying and beautiful pieces of literature i've ever gotten my hands on. this is my third attempt to finish Death on the Installment Plan by Celine, and i'm determined to do it this time. every other time i've gotten about half-way through before something explosive happened in my life which made it fall down the priority list. which is a terrible shame, but i don't mind starting it over again. it's no waste of time, that's for sure.
