An observation: 2 most frequently told lies that hopefuls tell each other on this website:
x. "you'll be pink in no time" -bullllllllllshit
x. ""you're a pretty girl" -ehh...
Note that the latter comment is almost always followed by a "but..." , as though calling someone a "pretty girl" will soften the blow that's coming. :p ... "You're a pretty girl, but these photos were taken with a dollar store disposable camera and I can see your 2 year old daughter in the background of your mom's kitchen and your tampon string is showing, and you haven't showered in eight days, and prior to this, you'd only ever taken school photos".
Each site has its own internet-speak, I guess. Until I came to this site, I hadn't encountered the "+1" thing on any forum. I like it. It's like, your score going up.

But here I am online at 2pm. I'm taking the afternoon off, (though I should be in the shop working). I need some comforting things, so I'm watching cartoons and eating bagels with white bean dip. Later I'm going to see my best buddy Moonstone - thank goodness. I adore that woman; she always lifts my spirits.
Today started with a surprise. I drove all the way to the campus in a rush, with something stuck in my right timberland boot. I was in a sleepy so I didn't think much of it, but by the time I had gotten to class, it was starting to bother me. So I took off my boot and emptied it out, only to discover three dead, relatively flattened house mice. A gift from the cat, which she so kindly left for me in my boot. Somehow, this struck me as more endearing than disgusting - rather than dwelling on the three dead mammals that I'd been walking around with, I smiled at the thought of the cat, the adorable little huntress. She's moving out on Sunday.
But here I am online at 2pm. I'm taking the afternoon off, (though I should be in the shop working). I need some comforting things, so I'm watching cartoons and eating bagels with white bean dip. The weird surprises weren't over though. As you can see, I hurt my finger today. I did it while in the wood shop, with a chisel, (BLOOD OCEAN). I went to the hospital to get it stitched, when the second unpleasant surprise came; no insurance. It was canceled earlier in the month. $250 for this bullshit 
But, all this makes me feel a little more justified in taking it easy this afternoon. I wish it hadn't been my left index finger. I need that finger for accordioning.
Everything will get better.

Moving right along though-
That cut on my collarbone is from my accordion. I need new straps, because the old ones are so ruined that they're trying to eat my collarbone. Maybe someone wants to buy me a lovely holiday gift of nice new straps, heh?
I promise to record a beautiful song for anyone who might be so generous.
Yesterday was brutal and my guitarist and I spent the evening quickly drinking away our sorrows and taking in the weird social dynamics that occur when hundreds of art students are shamelessly mingling in varied states of intoxication. It's interesting stuff, from a voyeuristic perspective.
My guitar boy is good (a really, good person) and our band is picking itself up great - we're recording this afternoon. At least there's that : ) When the hell which s school isn't making me sick, he's keeping me sane.
Working on masks, 8, to be finished by Wednesday. 2000 insults. And wood and video and great broadway composer. All with so much work to be done, what the hell am I doing online? I woke up and it is bright and sunny, (the best part about this 5 windowed room) and now I'm watching cartoons and eating yogurt. These are things which I must do to hold it together. I totally lost it yesterday, so I feel like maybe, at least for the hour, I can be gentle with myself. I'll do more work this afternoon. For now, cartoons to ease this headache and weary heart. Morale, my friends, is low. But at least it is sunny in here.
It's ok, I tell myself. Today will be better than yesterday, it must! In the mean while, here's some saturday morning silliness for your enjoyment.

School has me very busy so I can't dwell on here too long. I spend about 18 hours per day on campus, and the rest of my time working/worrying/sleeping, and lest I forget, instrumenting! I played two shows this week, and another tomorrow - I'm so busy it hurts. I suppose though, an abundance of life beats a lack of it. Still, I feel like I'm losing it.
