I rode to work then up to Will Rogers and into the mountains from there. At the usual turning point I decided to see what was up ahead. I ended up on the fire road then dirt Mulholland, Mulholland then Sepulveda. Running out of water along the way. At a certain point I just wanted to get off. Finally got some water at the Nike site, long after oogyness hat set in.
On the fire road I rounded a sharp down hill bend and met a full grown male deer with big sharp pointy antlers, 3 points on each side. He let me get about 25 feet from him, then turned and hopped down the fire road. I followed him for about a quarter mile, about 20 feet behind him. I guesstimate he weighed 125 to 150lbs. I will admit that surprising him did generate some fear. He had horns and I had an empty water bottle.
Today my ass is sore and walking is somewhat difficult.
What can I say let myself get out of shape. When I was in shape it would have been an average ride.

Dear old psycho mom called me a few weeks ago and told me she had quit her job. With no savings no pension no nothing.
So I have been a little stressed because I have been after her for years to prepare and take care of things, but hasn't. I have been really worried that I was going to have to help her with the $ I have been saving for a car. Not that I would have a quam about helping her, but it would wipe me out.
When she does pass, I will leave a huge mess for me to clean up. Most people don't consider there actions on others though.
On top of that, bs with the room mate. I understand that everyone has different ways of living, but this guy is 34 going on 8. On top of that he thinks he is smarter than the rest of the planet. It should be entirely legal, and encouraged to beat some people.

I never heard about those things before I moved here. I even had the idea that LA was an Indoor town But I am so happy that it is not. there is a pub/ party culture but I like to maintain a mix. Who says you cant drink in the wilderness?

Awesome day today went down to the beach with all the other riff raff. It was just too damn hot to hang at the apt. Had a few beers and sat on the beach for a wile. Walked around Venice at dusk. Bought a book at Small World Books "Gulag" nice book store with some very friendly cats. Once I am vehiclized next month I am going to start looking for a new place. Hollywood or Venice. I like offbeat places.
Guess I am weird, I go to the beach and buy a book. At least I didn't get Crabs.

Got the Licence in the mail today, which surprised me because I was told 6 to 8 weeks. It didn't even take a week.
In other news I hate most of the people I work with. It like the dorky Kids in Jr High with really bad breath. Apparently people never really mature. They get bigger, hairier, and fatter but they are still just 12 years old trying to push people around on the play ground in the guise of corporate psychology. Its quite sickening. Oh well
Wish I could remember the name of the Scandinavian sociologist/writer that explains that we a re just a culture of adult size children. Oh well.
On top of that my B-day lurks in the not too distant future like doom!

Had a strange occurrence this evening. An old man about 60 walked up to me wile I was waiting for the bus.
" Do you know of any retirement homes around here?"
As I said "No," I looked him over. He was wearing slippers a Tee shirt and pajama bottoms. He also had a Plastic hospital ID bracelet on.
He said he was going to try few more blocks and started off walking west on Pico in a very contorted manner. He crossed Beverly and headed off down Beverly almost jogging.
I stood there for a minute and called 911 because he didn't smell like alcohol and was very disoriented. He didn't make it far. I think the cops called for an ambulance.

Went to get my california Drivers liscence today. I have an outstanding ticket from 1996 that I never took care of. Its 10 years and 3 months old. I renewed my Arizona liscence several times and never heard a word about it. The catch is that sacrimento must clear the hold and it takes time, alot of it aparently
Called in sick with a very upset stomach, one day this week. Not sure how but I still worked 50 hours in 4 days

Went to buy a cell phone yesterday. They want a $500 deposit because I recently moved here and don't currently have an account. I used to use Cricket in AZ. which was half the price cell service is here in LA. I am just not willing to pay $100 a month for a cell phone.
I can buy a fucking house but I cant get a cell phone. WTF
I tossed the guy the phone and told him it was small enough to might not cause much discomfort in his ass. I would be happy to assist with the insertion.
