You didn't answer my question, only looked at me with that look you get when you're concentrating so hard
It plowed right through me, like a rush of joy and pain, in equal amounts
Simultaneously adorable and serious
I can't determine which is more appealing, so I take them both

You came back to my side of the street and we walked
Not hand-in-hand since you were busy pontificating my rather bizarre request
I just looked straight ahead, but occasionally sneaking glances through my peripheral vision
I saw you doing the same to me, and I smiled
And so did you, an almost embarassed smile that you just couldn't hide
It made mine bear even wider
Then, for a reason unknown to me, you stop walking
But you tell me to keep going, just a few more paces

You told me to stop when I was about ten feet away, then said three words
"I see you."
