This is the first week in December, leading up to the holiday and the season of giving. This is the only time of the year where I've been able to make some really good money going out and busking, so today I am going to start doing that for the next four weeks. I'll be downtown at the Powell BART station playing my recorder, flute and sax, Christmas songs and jazz improvisations, trying to do it every afternoon for at least three hours. Or at a different downtown SF BART station, or in the Castro.
I hope I make enough money to make it worthwhile for me. I sure need it!

I had a most unpleasant experience on this site a week ago, in one of the groups, in a thread I had started, where a self-righteous young vegan publicly attempted to tear me a new asshole as the expression goes. So I logged off SG and didn't check back in here for seven days.
Most of the folks I meet here are reasonable and decent-hearted, if sometimes abrasive in the typical "I'm cooler than you are" manner that internet users like to project. But this one chick, sheesh, she's got a few things to learn when it comes to intelligent communication.
I think I am gonna stay out of the discussion groups for the most part from now on. I'm not doing so much social networking on this site anymore, anyway. I'll check in daily for new photosets and momentary diversions. Maybe someday I will resume writing a regular blog here. But for now most of my friends (you know who you are, and who I am) can find me on Facebook.
Rock on, peoples...

As anyone paying attention to this blog has probably gathered by now, I am not writing much here on SG these days. I'm not even going to bother with the YouTube videos anymore.
If I have something to say here, I will say it. Otherwise, you can find news and updates regarding my musical endeavors over at my website or MySpace, and find my personal thoughts and utterances, photos, faves and links at my Facebook page (you will have to friend me there in order to see my profile).
Cheers, don't be a stranger...

If anyone reading this blog is interested in my musical activities, please tune in to KPFA tonight at 10:00 pm Pacific Time (worldwide on the internet or 94.1 on the FM dial for those in the SF Bay area). The program is Discreet Music and I'll be joining host Dean Suzuki to talk about past musical activities, current recording projects, and upcoming live performances. The program will also be available for listening anytime at the KPFA Program Archives for two weeks from the air date.
