Well, another day another dollar....back in the land of the Frozen elk and by god you can tell winters on its way...zero degrees when I arrived, than the baby Jeebus for my new coat! A hefty chunk of my credit card was spent on it but its well worth it so far!
Well today has been one of those days...Plane was late, coach was late, it was raining, it was cold, bathroom lights exploded...still gott larf aintcha!

I've jsut lost the entire days work after microsoft excel deemed it relevant to corrupt the spreadsheet I've been working on all day! Gotta larf though aintcha! Though it seems like such a cop out to have to inform your boss you cant answer his telecon question as "The spreadsheet wont open"
H hum...well, I've just invested a shed load of money in a toast toast coat for the coming swedish winter! Hope its as warm as it looks!
Right I got to wear a shirt and tie and stuff tomorrow so I'm off to iron some! Oh how rock'n'roll....

Well, Last weekend was ACE!
My best friend got married in the lakes (Not literally IN the lakes...but in the lake district) in a nice hotel on Lake ullswater. Everyone made the effort to turn up even if it was a fair old hike for most of the guests!
I was best man no 2 (I got to organise the stag do but didnt have to do the speech) so did a lot of running around and making sure everyone was okay and networking and generally trying to be nice

The bride looked great if a little nervous! but it all went off without a hitch Except the weather whch, during a two hour boat cruise turned into a typhoon! but we all had fun standing on the front of the boat, recreating Titanic (except for the sinking part...)
I would post pictures but I'm still mentally broken by two days of binge drinking...

Two updates in two days...I must have no life!
Actually I've had an unscheduled weekend stopover in Stockholm due to a sudden massive amount of work that's been dumped on me and I've been procrastinating over it all weekend
Luckily it's freezing cold outside and keeps trying to rain, otherwise I'd be pottering about the place enjoying the great outdoors
Well what have I got up to this weekend cleaning and laundry! Rock! Go me!
I've got an evening planned of learning Swedish
Hej Hej! Jag heter Ian, Jag bor I Coventry. Jag ar i sverige for att jobba.
I know there's o's and a's with circles and dots above them missing from that sentence but I'm too lazy to find the character mappy thingummy and insert them.
Swedish lessons are odd due to a bonkers tutor. Last lesson we learnt how to describe the game of "Swingball" in Swedish. A prerequisite for holding conversations with shopkeepers, bar tenders and work colleagues I'm sure
I'm off down south in the UK next weekend to see the girl. Hopefully going to do Londinium and my old stomping ground Brighton. Not sure how I'll feel going back .lots of positive memories but also there's bound to be the sadness of the reason I left last time but that's a whole different story I could bore you to death with lol
Well Swedish TV is crap except for this bizarre advert that makes me chuckle
Enjoy your Sundays you lucky luck people!

Well well well
.Where the bloody hell did July august and September go??! I blinked and they were gone
so I haven't updated for what seems like eons, ages and a fairly long time to boot....I'm now, due to exponentially increasing workloads, stuck in Sweden for the weekend, so thought I'd skive off for a while and let you know what's happened in the world of Hobo lately
Mainly just three things
Number One: FIB = Festivale internacionale Benicassim* = Glastonbury by the sea.
FiberFIB
Picture it a festival that doesn't start till 6pm every night so allows you to take advantage of the local beach (yes beach!) in the sweltering temperatures (yes England y'know that hot weather you're supposed to have in the summer as opposed to fecking floods??). Then throw into the mix some of Europe's biggest bands and Baddabing you have FIB. (Oh plus numerous narcotics and litres of cold Heineken)
So what happened???!?
Well, we got a coach from the midlands to London Heathrow at 1am, so without sleep we set off for Spain!
We arrived about 4am and wandered around terminal one till the check in opened, then checked in and went through security to the bar! A pint of Beer at 5am and onto the plane by seven more drinks than you could shake a stick at On the plane we had three bottles of red wine and by the time we landed in Spain we were having a whale of a time.
We hopped on a cramped, hot sweaty train to Barcelona Sants station, where we had a few hours to kill before we caught another train. So we went for another beer. Luckily, using the power of the internet, we'd prebooked out train tickets. Now listen up kids, if you intend to go to benicassim by train, BOOK IN ADVANCE!!! We meant lots of people who were making up their travel arrangements as they went and were finding all the trains and coaches already booked.
So we got on the train (first class obviously ) and compared to British trains it was all very pleasant. Lots of room, air con and a BAR!!!!! Yes, A BAR!!! I'm not talking about a traditional British train style snack kiosk, I'm talking about a bar with stools around it and a couple of tables with stools around them! So we indulged in a few more drinks during the very pleasant three hour journey (It takes two and a half hours usually but there was a fire near the line so we stopped and had a walkabout on the platform in the hot hot sun for a while!)
Then we pitched our tent .fairly well considering we were quite drunk by then and then we got drunk and suntanned for six days ï
Highlights include:
Arctic monkeys - nonstop dancing to the Sheffield boys!
OK GO - never heard many of their songs before but they're ace!
Who made who - Danish band who confused a lot of naïve people by claiming to be the Saxons
CSS - Dancetastic - lovefoxx is ace!
The klaxons - Nu-rave-tastic
Magic numbers - surprisingly good; made you feel super happy!
Jamie T - Mayhem in a tent!
The Hives - Grrrrrrreat! The lead singer is bonkers! Already booked tickets to see them tour in the UK!
And muse well ..words fail me. Awesome.
(*Apologies to the Spanish speakers in our midst for my lack of spelling!)
Number Two: V Festival in Staffordcestershire Weston Park
Well this was the entire opposite of the FIB festival. It was dark and cold and wet. Very wet. So wet in fact that here a picture of my trainers to show you what a trip to the toilet turned my Dunlop green flash into (Its mud by the way not toilet contents!!)
[Picture will be inserted here when this site lets me!]
The music however was very good.
The Killers and the Foo fighters and Kasabian all rocked the place and for a few hours we were able to forget it was raining! Before the mud sliding trip back to the campsite.
Had an ace time overall, particular highlights' included:
a) The mud wrestling arena that appeared during PINK
b) Wee Sammy going mental to Mika.
c) Karl just basically being his Beer swilling self; Two pints of cider for breakfast come what may.
d) Glowsticks randomly reappearing after being thrown into the crowd
e) Wearing dayglo leggings gets you all sorts of unwanted attention
and met some reet cool new people to boot!

Three: The Munich beer festival
My bestest mate is getting married and made me best man number two, responsible for dragging 15 people off on a stag do to Munich It was very stressful trying to arrange everything in a foreign country for 15 people and it's the Oktoberfest time, so everywhere was busy (all the hotels, flights etc) but we managed to pull it off and turn up to a city full of lederhosen clad drunken people and sexy German ladies wearing amazing cleavage revealing dresses! It was so very busy, so very drunken and yet everyone was so well humoured and just there for fun and laughter! I recommend you all go at least once in your life!!
Here's me looking like Gandalf

That's about it really .music, alcohol and work still can't complain!!
Oh and I also saw the polyphonic spree the other night they were, as expected, unbelievable. It was in a comedy club so it was really intimate venue but the benefits of being three feet away mean that my ears were still ringing three days later probably not good long term, but then there's little else that can put a smile on my face like the spree in full flow .
If you don't know about them, check them out (And don't worry, they're not a cult!!!!)

Well today I am pooped!
The damned sun rises so early over here at the moment .in fact I think it rises before it even sets Its broad daylight at about 3am and can I sleep like this? Can I bugger!
So I too (phnarr phnarr) and turn for four hours before I drag my sorry ass out of bed and grab a train to work, whee I'm tired and grumpy and the smallest things begin to annoy me!
On a lighter note..I'm going rock climbing tomorrow. Apparently it's a fun team building day .though I think the team building may be done in the broken bone section of a Swedish hospital should be interesting considering the strange shapes and sizes of some of my Swedish colleagues .
Apart from that .nowt else has happened erm .nope .work was work now I've got random American sitcoms to keep me entertained through till bed time, so I'm off to curl up on the sofa!
Tatty bye!!

Well its been ages since I wrote anything
.but then its ages since anything mildly amusing or different happened
.ho hum!
Work work work, drink drink drink if fact Drinking has become tiresome at the moment which is a sign I'm heading for one of my low periods
where we continually mull over all those deep and meaningful life questions i.e. What am I doing with my life?!!
At the moment I seem to have settled in to that rut of "well life's okay so why fiddle with it it might get worse" but my mind keeps telling me "But on the other hand it may get Fabbo if you try and climb out of this rut do something different change jobs? Move city? Move country?"
So far only minor changes get me out of this mildly depressive rut I hope the same's true this time.
Well yesterday was roasting hot and I actually enjoyed sun batching and catching up with some reading and today was raining which I love so I went for a walk in the rain. Excellente!
Well I hope that life's a little more exciting for you than it is for me .tatty bye!
Any questions Put your hands up and fire away!

Well after another mental week which involved:
One of thos days where evryhting that can go wrong does go wrong.
My boss phoning in sick and then going AWOL for three days
Train staff that seem to make up the price of tickets
A baby Squirrel
the week is now over
Tomorrow is a national holiday here in sweden, and hence a day off...and being clever types the swedes apply the "Its not worth going back to work for one day after a holiday so we'll have today off too" rule
So i might get drunks tonight!!!!

Put it this way...I left with a hangover, the walk took 3 hours, it began raining halfway round...but i did see a baby squirrel who seemed as interested in me as I was in hims
Still I had the following people keep me entertained during my treck...

Hope you had funs todays!

Well I've been sort of trying to fight off a cold for the last few weeks and now it's doing my head in!!! Grrrrr! Get away from me oh foul virus of snotty noses and sore throats!!!
Still it hasn't stopped me drinking till the cows come home! Much merrymaking was had when I attended my good pal from university (Swansea) Chris's stag do in the grand city of Londinium.
An excellent time was had, but before you get on your high horse, it wasn't a traditional stag. There was a fair amount of drinking but none of the usual group lairiness shenanigans that accompany such do's. we were most well behaved and were in fact all homeward bound by 11pm (due to the fact that it was the London marathon the next day so rooms in londinium were nonexistent)
The only down side being as we all made our way to the station, some chav lobbed some eggs at us from a high rise car park. Bastids.
Then we had a mates 30th birthday where we constructed him a Carmen Miranda style fruit hat he's 6foot two already and looked a frightening sight when bedecked in a hat with a pineapple on top and feathers on top of the pineapple .
Apart from that, nothing much exciting has happened in the land of the Hobo I'm back in Sweden and work seems to be piling up at an alarming rate with no sign of it ceasing I'm bored and tired of it all at the moment on one of my cyclic "life's rubbish what's the point" sort of things, but it will pass hopefully it'll be sunny this weekend and I can enjoy some of Stockholm's beautiful scenery
Well that's about it really not done much else Think my toe is going septic I'm incredibly tired
Here is a picture of an orang-utan. They always cheer people up

OOK!!!OOK!
