Changes
Well, I've had quite a journey over the last several weeks. During that time, I went to the hospital to detox from alcohol, and I completed a twenty one day inpatient stay at an alcohol and drug abuse treatment center. That's an interesting way to ring in the Spring right? LOL. In all seriousness, my time in rehab was amazing and life-changing. I learned volumes about this disease that I have known as alcoholism, and I am so glad I finally faced it. I feel like a new person both physically and emotionally. Life feels new to me - a little scary and a lot exciting.
p.s. I am now on my 49th day of sobriety. I'm gonna celebrate with a cold glass of Diet Dr. Pepper.

This song always makes me visuilalze. It's a guy waiting on his girl to show up. Will she, or won't she? I''ve always pictured a late afternoon when hearing this song.
My Mom is where I got my love of music love from. We were music buddies. I disticntly remember calling her and asking her about this song. She knew exactly what it was.

I love the message of this song.
I'm a totally straight guy, and that's how I was born. That's how my brain is wired. That's why I can completely appreciate gay and bisexual people. We're all on our own paths. To me, nobody is different.

I think this is the musical direction in which I'm heading. Black Metal combined with Shoegaze. It's so brilliant! It has the melancholy and the angst. These are the two emotions that I feel the most these days.

Unrelated to this song, today I finally sold the engagement ring that I gave my ex-girlfriend from several years ago. I've long since let that relationship go in my heart, but it was nice to have that ring out of my life once and for all. I didn't get anywhere near what I paid for it, but it's all good.
