What's happening?

Uni:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I'm entering the last study period for my degree. By Xmas (I hope), I'll have a piece of paper that says I know all about the Internet. So, 13 weeks from now, I'll be done. I had better get a job!

Work:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Some of you know that my job undertaking web development for my friend's magazine has come to an unfortunate and abrupt end -- though through no fault of my own. This just happens in business sometimes. As a result, I'm now looking for work. As quite a big change, this time I am going to accept full-time work, if offered. It's a lot for me to handle all at once (full-time workload and full-time uniload) but I'm sure I'll manage just fine.
Thanks to some help from friends who have been helping me with my CV, I'm confident I will have found a role that I like before the degree is over. I have to be -- once the degree is done, they'll cut off my benefits!

Fun:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Been a lot of birthdays lately, which is fun. But it's really drained my bank account. And since I don't have a job right now (see "Work" above) it's a little un-fun. Thankfully, I have a great girlfriend who knows how to find fun in just about anything.
Things in that department are still going well.

Okay. I'm back in Brisbane now.

Oh, and Sigur Rós were great. I caught up with some great friends, met Rys for a short spell one afternoon, and was fairly unwell for the last 36 hours or so.

Still haven't fully recovered. It's a weird feeling.

I'm in Melbourne from today until next Tuesday.

I'm seeing Sigur Rós tonight. Should be great. It always is.

Meanwhile, I'm microblogging at twitter.

This one's more or less just informational. More or less boring. wink

It was two weeks late but yesterday I handed in a project plan for a report tentatively titled "Look Who's Talking: Why your brand needs an online community manager". I am hoping for good feedback. Meanwhile I have to produce an annotated bibliography.

Erin, with whom I shared the birthday party last week, had a small dinner with friends on Wednesday night at the Himalayan Cafe. It was crazy delicious and, between 9 of us, it worked out at just $20 per person. Afterwards we drank some wine at her place and then we realised it was after midnight so we all trundled home.

On the way home, I decided not to put my scarf on and, as a result, I ended up with a wicked sore throat which ballooned into some sort of flu-y symptomed horror. So I spent Thursday in bed (typing up the above project plan) and today was spent in bed watching The Machine Girl and Hellboy.
Miso soup is doing wonders for me. I might cook some pasta shortly, too.

Tonight I'm going to head to a little house party. And I'm still a little bit flu-ish as I write this, but a lot better than I was yesterday or this morning. Bed rest FTW.
Tomorrow (Saturday) night, I have a small dinner party to attend.

Supposed to meet someone at the State Library, too, but we're still organising that.

And that's it for now.

Did you get this plague going around?

What are you up to this weekend?
