First off... so much for consistency. This feels like when I was little and would apologize to my diary for being away for so long.
Anyway, I'm moving! Normally I shie away from exclamation points, but this definitely warrants them!!!!!!!
My good friends and I got all decisive a few weeks ago, albeit it a bit drunkenly, but things are solidified now and it turns out that they'll be ready to move sooner than I thought. SO we're going to be finding a place at the beginning of the summer instead of the end.
Thanks to some summer classes and I'm not entirely sure what else, I'm graduating in three years. So the end of next one is it. I've been crashing a class for two weeks and finally got in, then found out that it is about a career that I'm interested in and couldn't put a name to.
The class is called Human Factors, which is a bit vague. It's about human tech product interfaces; how people cognitively react to gadgets and websites and the sort. Product testing was fun for the very reasons that this class is fun... potential maybe?
My schedule this quarter is dope, although I had to drop The Natural History of Dinosaurs. For now I'm taking Learning & Memory, The British Canon, and Human Factors. Got some great professors and my job is going strong. Things are pretty mellow right now.
And my mom and aunt spontaneously visited me in SC yesterday and we walked to lunch on my lunch break and ate some dope sandwiches. The end.

Anyone have advice on how to stretch out/ self-crack the upper part of a back (between the shoulders-ish)? I am oh so achey from dat manual labor. We are setting up for the spring quarter rush at school and have been moving stacks on stacks on stacks of books. It is quite literally back breaking.
ALSO, I just spent the last two hours cleaning the bathroom. It is amazing. I think I got Lime Away in my eye but who cares? Everything smells soooo sanitary.
Also also, just found this lovely gem of a video again. It won't disappoint:

All I've got in me is quick updates.. The housemates and I caught a 24 hour bug or something. It's been a bit longer than 24 though and I'm quite cotton-headed. Had my second (/second-last) final at 8 this morning. I think I did a bang-up job but that's because it was only my music of India class. Worked a full day after and I just made it home with an enormous migraine. Crunch time comes tomorrow at 8 for Biology: Ecology/Evolution. I feel very woe-is-me, but I know that tomorrow at 11:00 I'll be free to nap and be artsy and work overtime (that Spring Break chedda) and chipper.
The best way to describe my current frame of mind is: I'm that guy who is making roar-grunts at the gym. I'm not angry, just focused to the point of yelling.
And hey, other than the health stuff and school, today was pretty dang nice. I treated myself to a really nice meal for my lunch break and then ran into my friends playing music downtown on the short walk back. They threw my name into a song as I passed and I gained 100 ego points. Also, not sure if I was mis-payed, but my paycheck is looking much larger than I expected considering I was home sick on Tuesday.
All in all

Okay. Essay complete! Working on some notetaker duties; gotta finish 'em up before le birthday party tonight.
But, now I don't have to feel as guilty about playing about on the computer and digging up some of my favorite videos... and sharing them.
Busting out the big guns now:

12 hours left until paper deadline... gotta git er done! Especially because I want to clean the bathroom and dye my hair. Rewards at the end of the tunnel.
Buuut... the internet has sucked me in once more.

It is a sad day when you realize that you've been just too darn busy to be on SG and then TOO TOO busy and are avoiding it by being on SG.
GOOD LORD it's been years... months.
Well, where to begin? Life has taken a turn for the absolutely lovely in the past few months. I'm going to make an effort to update more regularly so that I can include awesome details rather than merely the awesome big picture. But, here it is:
Saw my family over the holidays. Turns out they're going to be moving, but it'll be cool because downsizing will be good since I moved out. Plus, my lil sis can be closer to her dance studios and dance school (which I fully support
).
THEN, went with my beau and some of our friends to Lake Tahoe to a festival (Snowglobe). To be fully honest, I was not super into it comparatively speaking. Sea of Dreams last year was far superior. I learned that I do not like cold and an a terrible duration partier. 5 days had me past the end of my stamina. Howeverrr, I DID manage to see Baaur, Flosstradamus, Madeon, ill.gates, and Beats Antique. They catered their sets to a different sort of audience than I'm used to (i.e. didn't really play my favorites) but who can complain?? They are my favorites and killed it!!!
So we make it back to the Ole Santa Cruz and detox for a week-ish. My family visited and we ate some bomb food and I --whoop dee doo-- got a call back from a place that wasn't hiring and then suddenly was! And whaddya know? It was the place I ABSOLUTELY wanted to work at. SOOOO I got a job at a bookstore! Dream come true (for a student... and just in general). I get to read advanced reader copies of books from publishers and make up reviews for the store and get a free hot chocolate (from our cafe) every shift. AND got a box of free puzzles because no one likes them as much as I do
.
Also, school has been going spectacularly -we haven't been tested majorly yet-, I'm taking Biology: Ecology and Evolution, Music of India, and Cognitive Neuroscience.
BUT they're for my major and I'm really excited because this sort of business is right up my alley! And Music of India is my respite between the two. My professor frequently sits on stage and plays his sitar for the lecture hall (and he's suuper good although he isn't allowed to say so... tradition dictates modesty). And lulz, my Neuro professor is a terrible instructor but gosh is he adorable. Mid-seventies, he speaks so quietly, but says hella, winks and folks, and draws with chalk on walls and jumps on tables. ALSO, I'm makin' the cheddar super passively because I'm up and taking notes for the Disability Resource Center for two of my classes.
(Also, after months and months of housemate drama, we finally booted 3 people and our newest home member is great! He is even in my Neuroscience class!)
Finally, the boy and I are embarking on a Skyrim (we traded it for Borderlands 2) and Minecraft journey simultaneously. Our friend built a portal in the latter and who knew there would be flaming jellyfish monsters in a hell-like place?
That's all for now folks!
P.S. to self: go for the all-you-can-sit deal at the tattoo parlor. You can handle it. Yesterday's session was peasy.
P.P.S to self: Your boyfriend is the best. He plays chess with you at the parlor. Keep him around.

Thinking about finding a new job, except ending the current one will be tough. Looks like I'm about to break up with a 73 year old man. Hmmm...
Also, this is catchy as hell and awesome and hilarious.

It's been almost a month?! Where has my time flown?
Well, it's felt like a productive four weeks since joining my service learning class.
Make a Difference Day on Oct. 27th at the Homeless Garden Project was awesome. Digging in dirt and playing with ducks is always a good time.
Experiencing some major contentment volunteering at the library's fundraising bookstore. Had a conversation about microcosms containing cosmoses with who knows who that was? There's a beefy security guard that's a good foot 2 feet taller than me (accurate measurement).
Went to the local jail with the class and it was rather interesting. Turns out that jail sentences around here can now last up to 4 years, even though the place isn't equipped to handle that. Most of the folks inside have mental illnesses and at least are getting meds and have a place to be.? Thinking about getting involved with the library's outreach there.
-Should I be more concerned that I enjoyed my time there greatly (versus the uncomfortable other young women in my class)? Something to look into...
Halloween was quite the experience. I could've gone more all out, but the dim light and nude bodysuit under my bodystocking still convinced everyone that I was naked in public. Which isn't as bad as my pre-Halloween outfit as a flasher... with paper nips and huuuuge pubes sewn on. It was like a FrankenDrunkAunt that no one would/could look at. I'll post pictures of one or the other if they exist, although maybe they're best left to memories alone.
My boyfriend got far too drunk and ended up punching a mirror sprinting places etc... he's sworn off drinking this month, dubbing it No-vem-Beer.
I beat Borderlands 2 with him and we're playing through a second time on True Vault Hunter mode. We're twiddling our thumbs until the new Halo comes out, and a new/newish president?
Seeing The Man with the Iron Fists tomorrow night because who doesn't want to?!! and watched a terrible movie called The Ward last night. It had some bomb actresses in it who were given a crummy scenario.
Thinking about writing a satirical article for my paper about Jersey Shore moving to Santa Cruz to resume filming on our boardwalk. Who knows? Maybe they will.

Sometimes things in my life need to be addressed publicly so:
Gentlemen in the tent in my backyard, you need to leave now.
That is all.
