So through a bit of luck, we had the chance to vacation at a lake house this past weekend.
It felt like a dream come true since it has been about a year and a half since we took a vacation (besides camping).
It was all going well until yesterday afternoon, when we ran to the store to pick up some things we had forgotten.
We get back out to the car and both tires on the passenger side are completely flat. Now I will admit to hitting a curb about a week ago, but I had driven over 600 miles since then (I have a 110 mile daily commute). As we put the car up on the flatbed we see that there seems to be a visible knife mark in the side of the tire about a one and a half inch perfectly straight line. And the tow truck guy said you haven't hit anything otherwise you would see a chip near your car.
Sigh, so 4 hours of our vacation were taken up with waiting for a tow truck, being towed, and then waiting for two new tires. Which also came to a grand total of $400.
If we ever go back I am never going to that shopping center again. I wasn't parked like an asshole. I don't think I cut anyone off while going there. I just don't know, what could have made someone so angry that they slashed two tires?
I worry about our future, because with the economy, and so many kids growing up with a sense of entitlement I feel like we are becoming an angry, angry society. The have vs have nots (which by the way I drive a 2006 Hyundai Elantra - I was surrounded by SUVs so I do not look like a have).
But yeah, it really put a damper on the whole weekend.
Between losing the money (I mean really do any of us have $400?) and just knowing that someone did it out of spite or for ha has. And we lost time we could have been relaxing.
I am thinking I should call the police of the town we were in to let them know. I mean they can't do anything now, and couldn't have done anything at the time because who ever did it was gone.
But yes I hate people and even in the country people are dicks.
