It is a beautiful day here. Although that seems to be nationwide!

I read the most heart ripping story about Kenya yesterday and the drought they have been suffering. They haven't had ran for months, and there is no rain on the horizon. The animals/livelihood are dying and because of that, when they get their rations of water, they actually prefer to give it to the animals then themselves because if the animals die, they will die.

It makes me realize how much I take for granted living in this country. And living in my life. Moreso the country where there are more options.

What are you most grateful for?

Yes, I do find it good that I've lived down here for pretty much all of my life and I never tire of how beautiful it is here. The downsides to it is small towns with small town mentality, a truly appalling public transport system, making getting around a very expensive and time consuming trial, and the fact that the rest of the country seems to think that England ends at Bristol, 70 miles north of here.

But taking a walk on Dartmoor in the rain makes it all somehow better. smile

I'm glad you're having good weather there as well. It's great isn't it?

I certainly understand what you mean in regards to the Kenya situation. I had a similar epiphany to yours during the Hurricane Katrina aftermath. After seeing all of that destruction and what those people were going through, it really gave me a fresh perspective on my own life. So what am I grateful for? So, so many things. smile

I am grateful for having those that I love in my life.

Humans are just animals and the world does what it does. so many people are ignorant of the way the world works, the way life works, the way the universe works. Nothing is permanent. No life, no residence, no nativity, no environment, no climate, no continent, no species, no planet, no star, no galaxy, no universe. We are lucky to have what we have. it can all be taken away in a second.

I'm most grateful for my dogs. They are one of the main reasons I keep trying.

Oh and the reason I cancelled mypace is I'm just not comfortable with the site for personel and tech reasons. It's really poorly designed, it crashes, it's not standard compliant.
Plus I don't have the time to keep up with it so it seems pointless. I this and my flickr account as well as a private forum me and my friends host.
