What a mess! Spent last night performing at Cirque Noir! The theme was Devil's Rejects which is awesome! But we spent the first half of the night getting ready for all the acts throughout the night and I missed getting to chill with all the awesome people who came by at the beginning of the night (including Canadian_Coat and Lee)! 
The turn out wasn't great (way smaller than any of the other cirque noir events) and I have to admit that the second I heard skrillex playing I knew they weren't really sticking with the theme this time (I don't like skrillex). By the time I did my eyepatch wearing nurse act and covered myself in red liquid latex there was only a small crowd left to see it and we got latex in my hair. NOT FUN TO GET OUT! (if you have any tips please do leave me a comment!) So far it's been a lot of baby oil, combing, shampoo, repeat. lol
On the plus side I think we got a few awesome photos of the acts and all the blood red latex!
The date for the next Cirque Noir has already been chosen and I'm hoping the next one is a step back towards what some of the more successfully themed shows have been like.
Tonight is the Halloween Hip Hop Hoedown hosted by Romi from the Real L Word. I'll be gogo dancing there and I hope it's a good time as it's not exactly in an easy to leave early from location if you don't have a car! Guess I have to pull together a cowgirl costume? Not really my thing but I'll have fun shaking my ass in whatever!
TOMORROW NIGHT! Tomorrow is yet another Halloween Hoedown, but this one is at the Rainbow in the market (downtown Ottawa) There will be a bunch of bands, art and burlesque by myself, and Audrey Hipturn of Capital Tease as well as a possible debut performance by Kitty Kin-Evil who has been our loyal stage kitten! On top of the acts that we'll be performing a handful of mine and Bambi Van Boom's burlesque students will be performing group and solo numbers! a first for a few of them!
In all this madness I haven't even had a chance to figure out what I'm going to dress as on actual Halloween when I get to spend it with my Sweetheart! We were talking about Sweeny Todd and Mrs Lovett type characters! Which I think would look pretty awesome if we can pull it together in time!
Well I hope every's Halloween weekend has gotten off to a great start! I look forward to checking out everybody's blogs for photos over the next week! To those of you who are just getting started have a safe and happy Halloween!

It's Halloween season!! Which means I have lots and lots of shows coming up, very little time to do anything, and woke up feeling rather crappy this morning.... damn. Trying to nip that last one in the butt so I can get to work on finishing up costume pieces and practicing! Gotta eat more protein or something....

I'm going to watch lots of movies, start drawing and painting again, cook homemade dinner at least 5 days a week, and get people back over here for game/movie nights like I we did last winter!
On that note, does anybody have any good movie suggestions? old or new...any genre...as long as they're good ones!

BURLESQUE SHOW SATURDAY NIGHT! Wee!
Capital Tease is going for Round 2 with The Matadors at Fishnet Freakshow 2 at Mavericks this Saturday night! We're bringing the strange a little earlier than last year and keeping the eerie going right through to Halloween! After Saturday's freakshow we prep for a creepy carnival themed event, a Devil's Rejects themed fetish show and finally a punk rockin' burlesque party on Halloween night! I'm still choosing music for some of my acts! Any suggestions?
In less awesome news, I let my damn license expire last week and spent all freakin day waiting in lines and taking numbers to get it back! Such a pain in the ass! The place couldn't be further from my house either!
Back to awesome: Capital Pride was this past weekend in Ottawa and I had an amazing time hanging out with the handsome men of Boylesque TO! Can't wait to see them again when I hit Toronto for Nuit Blanche's 12 hour Burlesque show at the Gladstone Hotel! Oh yeah! that's another show for the list! And stopping in Kingston to teach some burly clinics and then shake my tail feather once again the following evening before heading back to Ottawa!

Capital Tease presents Summer Lovin (My Burlesque Show this past Saturday night) was a big success!
The band was great!
All of the performers did an amazing job!
Adam Tupper was our MC and did a fabulous job of pronouncing everybody's stage names and even showed off some tassels at the end of the night!
Due to some extended technical work we opened the doors a little late but judging from the feedback everybody had a great time once the show got started! None of us fell off the stage.... all in all, a great night! Yaay!
Sunday was ANOTHER GREAT DAY! Met up with Fionna Flauntit, St Stella, and Allura Hindsight for some brunch at Chez Lucien! Then headed over to my old friend Laine's twin baby show where I got to catch up with a couple of my old high school girlfriends! Ate a brownie! yum!
After the baby shower I headed over to Ottawa's Bluesfest to catch DROPKICK MURPHYS with my lover! AWESOME SHOW!
Monday I kept the good times going with a visit to Cherry Blossom Pole Studio to play with the lyra (aerial hoop) and had a blast! I have the bruises to prove it! (I'd show you but I'm at work and taking a picture of those places might get me in trouble..
..)
I now have to buy a hoop! they're so much fun and all I've learned so far are the basic poses!
Went to see Bad Teacher last night too! Funny stuff! I think it was worth the ticket price! I never used to be a fan of Cameron Diaz but I've been warming up to her and liked her in this movie. She's not going to win any awards for it, but I was entertained and that's all I expect out of most movies. ps Jason Segel is awesome.... If I wasn't already so damn happy I'd want him to be my boyfriend

I really should be packing or sleeping, as I have to go get on a bus tomorrow and head to Toronto for the Toronto Burlesque Festival Fundraiser show... but instead I'm taking a second to say hello to you lovely people!
Today I performed along side several fellow burlesque performers (whom I will not name out of respect for their privacy) at two shows at a private club. the club is members only and the shows are on a very small stage and the feel is very intimate. It was actually my second time performing there. When I was first approached about perorming there I was freaked out by the mystery behind a "private members' hostess lounge" but after a meeting and private tour of the club I gave it a shot. The shows we do there have a completely different feel to them. We can interact with the audience a little more from the stage. give each of them a wink or shimmy of their own, directed at them alone. All in all the two shows we did there today went well, and I look forward to the next event they invite us to!
I got a few more photos from my last Capital Tease production; Bump In The Night! Good ones too! I'll be adding those to our website shortly and I'll be sure to stick a couple up in here!
Well it's time for me to pack for my 12 hour trip to Toronto!! I wish I could stick around longer but i have to be back in Ottawa for a STAR WARS INSPIRED FASHION SHOW Saturday morning at the Casino de Hull! lol I'm Darth Vader!! I promise to post pics of that too

Oh SG land! How I've neglected you yet again!
I've had a couple weeks to relax (aside from regular work hours) and it's been awesome! BUT it's time to switch myself in to show mode and get to work on all the upcoming awesome over the next couple months! My calendar is COVERED in different coloured sharpie notes and exclamation marks, scribbles and arrows, circles and more exclamation marks.
A couple that I'm really excited about are the Toronto Burlesque Festival and it's fundraiser, as well as Ottawa's Capital Pride festivities! I'll be teaching burlesque workshops to some amazing people!
The weather has been less that amazing lately but we're on our way to warmer temperatures... which makes me happy because I don't think I'm going on any vacations for a little while. Fingers crossed for a beautiful summer in Ottawa! I want nice weather for biking to work on weekdays, and more nice weather for shows on weekends!
I\ve been adding a few videos to the Capital Tease YouTube Channel, but there will be more to come very soon!
Well that's all my blabbering for now!

Been workin my butt off with all the Capital Tease burlesque events lately so it was nice to get out for a night of bowling with some friends last night! I haven't bowled since i was a kid so it felt pretty good when I KICKED THEIR ASSES!!!!! HAH! MISS KOSTON KREME FOR THE WINNNNNN!

Tonight is the debaucherous monthly night of hip hop vs glam rock; GRILLZ & GLAM. Allura Hindsight, Bambi Van Boom and I will be shaking our asses on stage all night long! This even is always a huge success and a blast to be at!
BUT at 7am tomorrow morning I have a 50s style photo shoot with the beautiful and insanely talented woman behind VicAliciousPhotography.com, so i better not get too carried away tonight! I'm super psyched for this shoot! I'll post a pic or two when I get them!
When the shoot is over I'll be heading over to Cherry Blossom Pole Dancing Studio for a pole jam and to play with their newest toys!! They just set up suspended silks and a lyre hoop! I really hope I have some energy left at this point because i've been wanting to try those for AGES!!! I'll report back and post pics of all the awesome battle bruises i get from that!
Just when I'm ready to keel over and die I'll be heading to Capital Miss Fits pole studio to teach their lovely ladies a strip tease workshop! It's my second time workshopping these gorgeous and fun women! I better grab an energy drink on my way over! I don't want to pass out and leave them only half stripped! haha
Luckily Sunday will be a little more laid back! just a short meeting with the girls and a couple hours of practice!
After a ridiculous weekend I'll be going out for dinner with my honey and trying lobster for the first time! I had allergies to a lot of seafood as a child
but those allergies seem to have passed! Wish me luck anyway!

Y'know every once in a while I get this sudden urge to go shoot a set and send it in.... then I think about what the special person in my life would think.... then I think about how that shouldn't matter! If I want to do it they should support me..... then I think what's the point of spending all this time making beautiful pasties to cover my nipples at burlesque shows if i'm just gonna show them off on the internet? .... then i get distracted by glittery pasties and start making more and forget about what I was thinking about in the first place.....
