Melanie Sharp was, and continues to be, an inspiration to more people than I think she really understood. Today, the day of her passing, I would like to make it so that she lives on through others. I heard from a close friend that the "K" in "MelanieK" stood for her middle name. So, with a full heart and open mind, I have made a decision. When I transition and start living my life as a female, my first name will be Katherine, after her. This decision did not come quickly or lightly. I hope this will remind me every day to live my life as if it were my last and remind me that I have so much love around me. I just hope that I live up to her name and can spread as much love as she did in her short years on this planet. Forever in my heart. I love you <3

Now I've read manty blogs this morning and last night about Melk but that that is truly the most meaningful and had me in tears. Katherine is a beautiful name and I bet she would be thrilled the idea was inspired by her.
