Jesus, the last couple of days have been rather heavy starting with aunty Sue's funeral yesterday. It was a really shitty excuse for a family get together but it was good to see some cousins I have caught up with in over 20 years. The servie was really nice, there was a selection of photos from throughout her life, from the humorous to the touching, some of which made a few of us ball (and crack up at times also). Mum got up and read a poem for Sue and she did really well not to break down. Ian (Sue's husband) my cousins Steve and Brendon gave a short but touching remembrance of her too. After that it was a trip up to the cemetery to intern her and say last goodbyes. We all then met back up for cakes and tea at the church where the service was held and that was followed by many drinks at the local pub. Sarraz's mum, who also attended the funeral got rather drunk off the two wines she had and when it came time to leave (at around 6:30pm) she fell rather badly outside in the carpark and needed looking after. She wasn't too bad really but we all got a scare.

We all regrouped back at mum and dad's place for takeaway curry and more beer. Sarraz's mum had a lie down for a bit due to her still feeling shaken and we ended up bringing her back to our house to stay the night rather than send her back to Waiheke island in the state she was in.

This morning she had another fall as Sarraz was about to take her to the ferry. THis time she fell headfirst into the back wheel rim of our car and cut her head quite badly. We've only just got back from the hospital and thankfully apart from having 7 stitches in her forehead she's mostly ok.

What a start to the week. surreal

Hopefully a rocky start to the week means things will become smooth soon. *hugs*

awww jeez dude!

You kinda hope that when hard times hit that shit will just go smoothly so that it can all be ridden out easily... but life doesn't do that for us now does it?

Poor Sarah's mum! --- owwww.... on a wheel rim no less!

Things to be happy about tho...

Family reuniting... beer & curry... good services for good people... it's sunny outside... And (most importantly...) you managed to walk into church without being struck down by lightening bolts from above!

Well done my heathen brother!

that just goes to show that some people shouldn't drink, and some people (often the same people, tho not always) should take more care where they're walking...glad to hear she's okkiss
